Hey Boston peeps, whatcha doin tomorrow?
If any people in the Boston area have nothing to do tomorrow night or Thurday I urge you to check out the O.A.R. shows at the Bank of America Pavilion.
O.A.R. puts on one of the best live shows I've ever seen. They have very light-hearted and fun music which is why I think they will strike a tone with many BN'ers. Even though they are more of a college type band I know many adults who have gone to their shows and ben blown away.
Every time O.A.R. comes to Boston I try to post something on here because the first O.A.R. shows I went to was 4 years and the only reason I went was a last minute recomendation from an an acquaintance. I went with very low expectations but twenty-two concerts and countless albums later, OAR is my musical obesession and I really hope some Boston peeps (or any people) can catch their show(s) this week.
Here is an article from the Herald about their shows this week:

Last night was my 22nd show and they just keep getting better. Both nights were absolutly amazing but somehow they managed to play 2 sold out nights in a row in the same venue and put on completely different shows each night. They played 2+ hours each show and played ONE similar song both night.
It is amazing to follow a band from their early days and see them changing musically right in front of you. My first show of their's was 5 years ago at the tiny Orpheum Theatre and now they are selling out a 5,000+ capacity show 2 nights in a row.
I was lucky enough to have front row center seats last night and during their encore they brought out all the opening bands and even a special guest (Stephen Kellogg and the 6ers) to sing a cover of The Weight. Marc (OAR lead singer) came right over to my seat and put the mic to me to let me sing the final chorus of the song. I will never forget that moment. They are an amazing band and they put on a spectacular show and having met them numerous times I know they are really awesome guys so I really hope some of you can catch them soon.
Here are some pics that were taken from right near my seats:

Here's a review of the first night's show...
Sticking with old favorites, O.A.R. a hit with rowdy fans
By Linda Laban

O.A.R. is a jamband caught in fratland.
Though its origins are in playing fraternity parties at Ohio State University, and its screaming, heavy-drinking fans have learned their social graces from MTV's ``Spring Break,'' the band's midtempo mix of rock, reggae, jazz and folk, clearly says ``jam band.'' And quite a gentle one at that.
Taking time out from recording its second major-label studio album for the Atlantic affiliate Lava, O.A.R - an acronym for Of A Revolution - returned to Boston for shows last night and tonight at the sizable Bank of America Pavilion.
Seeming invigorated and passionate, the band mostly stuck with old favorites - theirs and U2's. Kicking off with the sultry ``Hey Girl,'' the band wound through long songs of stuttering reggae and sizzling jazz, both blasted by heady sax honks, before eventually hitting the crowd-pleasing ``About Mr. Brown.'' Later came the classic epic jam ``That Was a Crazy Game of Poker,'' with singer Marc Roberge's rich gravelly voice dipping and soaring evocatively through his story.
O.A.R. labelmates Pepper, playing in the middle spot, fit the frat bill perfectly. Like some posturing cousin of Sublime, the band mixed reggae with thrash, and ignored any idea of groove or subtlety.
Openers The Southland played while the Pavilion tent still retained the day's oppressive humid air. Musically, this new Los Angeles-based quintet was a refreshing breeze-though. There was the odd song of mushy syncopated rock, but that was boosted by plenty of melodic, sweet pop wrought with heavy slabs of fuzzy guitar.
When O.A.R. saxophonist Jerry DePizzo sauntered on stage to join the rookies, few in the audience seemed to know or care who he was, even though he was loudly introduced.
But the DePizzo-assisted Southland laid out a version of the classic crooner ``I Only Have Eyes For You'' that had heads turning. From a smooth jazz beginning, the song eventually became a sludgy rock monolith with golden-voiced singer Jed Whedon switching from a sweet coo to a frustrated, angry screech.
The normally laid-back jam band scene just got anxious.
