Ormond Beach is in the Daytona area.....just north of Daytona....
Don't be "skreed".. just remember you are in THEIR ENVIROMENT and home....I am not sure what kind of dive knife you have ...but if it is shiny....remember alot of people get bit on the lower legs....I don't know of any "single best" thing to do other than keep your situational awareness about you...the attacks usually take place very quickly and I know of people that swear by going for the eyes with your thumbs....
Knifing or using bangsticks or powerheads only put more blood in the water......If you have to use a knife.... go for the gill slits... brain is too small to locate and with all the movement and speed going on, and be a hard target to hit.....I have seen sharks with their bellies cut open and tossed back over the side eat their own entrails and you could see them come back out..... before or other sharks finally ate them.
Becareful Bro, and use common sense and maintain your SA!

yea i relize ill be in their house, and your correct the knife would be more of a flashing neon sign that says hey theres a fat guy to bite, im more worried about drowning in my bath tub, or getting stung to death by bees then i am about sharks though

hehehehe Just beware of the falling coconuts.....and remember that more people get hurt on the beach that in the water attacked by sharks...So one is better off taking chances with the sharks....if you play the odds...you will be fine I am sure. Sounds like you already know what to do anyway....
I hope you have great and PHINTASTIC safe and memorable time while there!

Just saying that my warning encompassed all possible perils listed by Mr. Sam.

And that you are too nice and cute for shark bait.

Take a GOOD camera and lots of film or disc space and batteries..... no doubt get some excellent sunrises and sets....among other things ( remember the babes..... remember the babes!!! LOTSA pictures of the babes!!!
You now about the mornings and evenings and being in the water....
Say do you know this trick? At night if you walk along the beach ... walk just where the waves are hitting the shore.... look down and drag your feet in the sand.... keep trying it...you will find something neat and quite harmless to happen..... oh yead remember to have a jar or a baggies and
collect some beach sand ...keep alittle with you on your desk or wherever.
date it and collect it from every beach you go to....little jelly jars work wonders for doing so and are easy to label...just a thought. You can hold it anytime and be back on that beach..... really nice thing to do in mid winter!
