If you lost your JB collection for awhile

what would you listen to first?
I had a major pc crash here as I posted before and lost all my music.
Sy not only gave me a used lapltop but she sent me three discs of JB music. I haven't put them all in the player yet so I'm not sure what is there but I'm in music nirvana.
The first thing I clicked and listened to just as a chance was White Sport Coat - I have Found Me a Home. Considering the good support I got on the post for my sick kitty and Sy's great help with my pc problems I feel that way now about this board.
It's been a rough couple weeks. Hubby was laid off, found out boss hadn't been making med. insurance payments, cat got sick, son who is a runner may have mitral valve prolapse, and pc crash. So when I got the pc and cd package It was such a happy moment. Wow I feel like such a mush, Im not usually.

Any of the earlier works. I often pick A1A as my favorite (and it is) but in this instance I'd probably go for A White Sportcoat and a Pink Crustacean.

I don't know what I'd do, but I do know I'm wishing you all good luck in the very near future and plenty of hugs. Been there, done that, not fun. All I can tell you, hard as it is and as cliche as it is, keep smiling, it could be worse, and my fav,
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
That's what got me thru my hubby's 2-3 yrs off and on of lay-offs, one time when I was preggo!!! I constantly had to remind myself that it wasn't the end of the world, although it felt like it, I trudged thru every day and somehow we're back among the living.
Check w/your local hospital, they may have a free-care program, I used to work in a hospital in MA, and you didn't have to be on welfare, there were some guidelines, but, there was a program for people to receive free-care.
If you need to talk, feel free to PM me.

It's okay to be a mush, OCG, you've had quite a lot hit you all at once. There are so many people here who will pick you up when you are at your lowest point and give you strength. We're really a lucky bunch.
Hang in there and keep your chin up. ((((OCG)))))
In answer to your question...I think if I didn't have any Jimmy for awhile I"d be happy to hear almost anything.

My husband is a member of the plumbers/pipefitters/hvac union. They handle his benefits. If the payment isn't in over the next day or two they will pull the company's bond and use that to pay the benefits. But that can take a month to do. It involves threatening letters and time for them to fix it. So no matter what happens I have coverage. But if we go to a new dr. like a cardiologist and they call to verify coverage they will be told we don't.
Today the dr. ordered an echo cardiogram. I'm hoping if I go to get it done where we've done business before they won't verify coverage. His employer is such a jerk. Lays him off the day the payment is due and then doesn't pay it. And he's 90 days behind so he's using up the grace period the hall extends us with his non-payment.

Boy OC Girl, You have had a stressfull year. I sure hope everything works out well in the end for you and your family.
I'll share what happened to me last year with you for maybe some incouragement through these tough times.
I went in for a rutine stress test at the hospital cause I had been having some worries about a pain in my back for years. Should have gotten it checked earlier, but anyway, It turned out I have some major clogged up arteries. I had one completely blocked and two 90% blocked. My heart had actually started to make new veins to try and get some blood to the parts of my heart that weren't getting any oxygen. Well, my surgen came back and told me we would need to do 6 bypasses to straighten me out.
He's a tremendous heart surgen and he said with a sly grin " Not to worry Todd, I have done 7 one time before". They just couldn't believe I hadn't had a heart attack yet.
Anyway one day later, it was all done. I felt so sore and confused and depressed and weak, and any number of other things, that I just didn't think things would ever get better again. The hilight of my day was when 5 o'clock came and I could have some more pain medication. I felt like I was truly at rock bottom.
Well, the storm clouds lifted in time. I healed up and I feel better than I have felt in 20 years. It's been a complete 360 degree turn around from last year to this.
I quess what I wanted to say with this tale is to just keep your chin up, and things will get better. Life seems to come at you with hills and valley's, but if you haven't gone through any bad times...you can't really appreciate all the good times!
Best of luck to you OC Girl!
Todd

Aww thanks so much for the kind words

I really appreciate them

You just let me know what other music you need, too, and I'll get them to you!
As for what I'd listen to, I always listen to Barometer Soup (I absolutely love Lage Nom Ai), but that's just me

i loved the game Hands Down. Also Don't break the ice, Don't break the camels back, and don't spill the beans.
Just came back from Wildwood. Watched the one son compete in lifeguard races there. He ran the two mile soft sand race. Got 22nd place out of maybe 60 guys. His team mates were so happy for him. They were all high-fiving,back slapping, guy stuff. It's his first lifeguard competition. It's so good to see your keet in the spotlight all full of themselves and loving it.

I really don't need to talk about my life here, since you are the one that is in trouble...(no doubt, many remember the events of my life last year)......Instead of keeping your chin up ...cover it...and duck and move...hit and hit hard ...and ....duck and move...Hit and hit hard again,...feint occasionally but not often enough to make life think you will be a milksap...keep doing that, and do your best not to take another hit....

No matter what you do... you are going to take more hits....just try to avoid or absorb them with no signs of hurt as best you can.
Nothing about life that is pleasant, do many people care to hear about or are memorable and are often all to easy to forget.
It is the times that try us and our patience and will power that make us stronger and that we usually remember the most and make us stronger and to appreciate what we had when we took it for granted....
AND read my sig line.... When the "big horse" bucks and throws you....and no matter how much it hurts...get up, punch him in the nose as hard as you can, then get back on him and be ready to ride the SOB straight to Hell...sooner or later he is going to turn......If he doesn't.....then you will know you did everything possible to win, and did your best, and you will have no regrets.
No matter how bad it gets.....DON'T EVER SAY OR ASK "It can't get any worse...can it??? Cause you will find 10 or more different levels of just how bad it can get!!!
Sounds like you and phamily are holding up and remaing positive....keep the positive outlook....God never gives us more than we can handle...though at times I KNOW I do wish he would have laid off the weights so much.....
May God Speed and aid, comfort you and your phamily, and soonest!!!!
Phinpower and all the best to you and yours!!!
Remember "Life is just tire swing.." it goes this way and that way but always comes back.
AND.................READ MY SIG LINE!!!!

Isn't that what BN Friends do

That is what BN friends do.....and sy is one of the great ones! (Yes , you, Cookie Goddess!)
I didn't have mine for a while between my move from Georgia back to here....and someone sent me some music they burned for me....(Thank you again R2....)
I wanted a compilation of all the old stuff ...Like You Had to Be There, or Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays...even the (yikes,,I'm gonna get it here) Yellow Album...Just wanted to hear Jimmy.....
It's been a rough year on this end too ..so I understand...won't go in to details..but hanging in , hanging on...and BN helps with that..
Yesterday, all I wanted to do was come home and crawl in the bed...but I had checked my mail and there was a gift from someone on BN and that let me know someone had been thinking about me...Turned my whole day around!
The outpouring of love and friendship on this board is amazing ..From the Cookbook, to the PM's, to the cards when you least expect them, to the cookies that someone baked and sent to you..to the helping with the new avatar...to the everyday "How are you?".......It is just amazing , and I am proud to be associated with this site....
We are pretty wonderful people here...and I am so grateful!
Thanks for sharing that story...It means a lot..
