Hey Crash and others from Baghdad, congrats on a successful Buffettfest and thanks for letting us know how it went. I'm so sorry about your losses; what an awful reminder of how important it is to find some fun, relief, escape, etc. from the rigors of your everyday world. I'm thankful there are people such as you (Crash) who are over there to help do this for our troops. And of course, thanks again to the troops!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. There are no words that can make things better. But I would like to let you know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers everyday.
I am somewhat new to the BN phlock and missed most of the planning phase of Baghdad Buffettfest. I was so excited to share the news about this event with my friends. My best friend's hubby is over there right now but was too far away to get to Buffettfest. But they were all appreciative of what you guys did for the soldiers who could participate. The more I read the posts about what was going to take place, the more I got choked up and realized even more that being a member of the phlock gets more phantastic everyday!
Keep your chins up and know that we all think about you and hope for your safe and quick return! Thank you for all of your hard work everyone!

Way kewl on the participation, Crash!!crash_davis7 wrote:It wasn't my intent to put a damper on the event and what you all did. Trust me, it was greatly appreciated by everyone. We ARE in a war zone and things will happen but please don't let it ruin the extremely good deed you did.
I got the final count at Liberty Pool and it was 654 for the days event.
No worries, you didn't put a damper on it at all. You merely relayed the realities of life in Iraq to those of us sitting our asses safely in our easy chairs at night. Sugar coating it wouldn't have been the right thing to do.
We rejoice with you over the huge success of Buffett Fest.
And we cry with you when the realities of being in a war zone hit close to home.
Stay safe, and please let us know what your next big event is. We have ALL kinds of interests in the Land of Parrotheads, and I'd be willing to bet we can help out with some of your other soirés.

There were five of us taking them so there could be a lot. Any ideas how to handle this?

I tried to read a couple of pages of this at work today and dammit if my allergies didn't kick in
Even just a few pages back...50ish and up...must be the ragweed, new blooms, or something in the area
One solid thread.

Maybe I'll come up with some better words in another day or so; in the meantime, just...
Thanks to Crash and thanks to BN.
