There's a Margaritaville in Dallas? :D
Apparently, if they don't have a Margaritaville somewhere, they send reps instead.  (I think he's referring to the tequila rep. :D )
I meant the Tequila rep. I do hope they build one in the new Victory Center downtown or a CIP.
Could just tear down Landry's there by the Light Rail Station, put up something good like a CBiP.. :D

Another ***off the top of my head*** idea.........

We all represent quite a few states - could we get something "meaningful" from each of our states - something that screams the state i.e. for Colorado a Buffalo stuffed animal or something with the mountains on it - the MWR officer could use them as prizes for any games, etc. that they are doing.

Suggesting this as the soldiers in that company/battalion will be from all over the united states and it might be kewl for them to see swag from their home state :-)

I hope it will arrive to me in time to get it to them in time.
I agree with Four Play as far as not sending the original over, but it's great that we are sending Cousin of SOASOAPT or Brother or whoever.

Let's try to get some pic's of the Pittsburgh water and Tiki Bar's great and send them on as well. It would be great if our troops can send back some likewise from Bagdad.

Awesome Spring Parrot!!! and thanks Four Play for all you've done this year with SOASOAPT.

These are all awesome ideas, let me know what else I can do to help

And last but not least, thanks Quiet and Shy for getting this thread going

PHAW or someone else with experience shipping/sending stuff to the troops, what about shipping packaged foods?

BBQ sauce won't be a problem - just make sure it's sealed really well and if its a glass container - bubble wrapped good :-)

Take a bottle, and a vaccuum pump, and just slurp it out of the air near him.. duct tape the bottle shut, after capping it.

As phar as shipping, don't forget our very our Balcony Girl has offered EMPHATICALLY to help in any way she can....she'd be great resource for "how to" and "what ships well" questions.

Anyone want to volunteer to be the "collection" person for any of the "state theme" goodies we send?

Naw the West End is dead. Right by ACC they started to build the new Victory Center and that would be a great place.

Not sure where that is. Only other part of town I really remember is an Irish bar named "Trinity something" near some light rail station
