I saw Travis Tritt tonight
unbelievable, un-f'ing-believalbe. . . . The crowd was very dull compared to Buffett's, which was extremely suprising considering how rockin' the show was and how much energy Travis put into it. He must practice guitar a lot because last time i saw him he left all of the guitar solos to his back-up guitar player, but this time he did all the guitar solos and did a helluva job with them
he played 8 (EIGHT) encores, 7 of them being covers, 3 of those covers being Waylon songs. He also did a hell of a job with Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" and did one of the best versions of "Sweet Home Alabama" - (with a really cool solo electric guitar "Dixieland" intro) - i've ever heard.
The best song he did was without a doubt a completely rockin' version of Steve Earle's "Copperhead Road". . . i wish he recorded it because it was so unbelievable . .he started out with this long acoustic guitar solo into the song, and then slowly built it up and by the end it was rockin' like none other.
I'd go and see him again in an instant

actually, i just realized that i was mistaken. . .the long acoustic guitar solo intro was for his solo acoustic version of "Whiskey On Ice, Women On Fire". . . the intro to "Copperhead Road" was using bagpipes, but nonetheless, still absolutley amazingDsilCaribe wrote:I saw Travis Tritt tonight

We just got tickets for October 22nd.gingerbreadman wrote:No Bob Dylan?conched wrote:Willie Nelson is the only big concert for me this year.
Jimmy will be in October.
I have been to some shows, like Todd Snider and Robert Earl Keen, etc but that's NOT near enough music! Where has the time gone...
You're going to Vegas?

what do you have against Travis "Twitt" (very mature, JonathanJahfin wrote:I'll be seeing Steve Earle and Allison Moorer later this month, I hope to hell he won't be doing any Travis Twitt.
Maybe if Steve Earle did his take on one of Travis' songs, like Travis has done with Steves, you may like it. Sort of like what Jimmy and Jack Johnson did with their tours.
Just expressing an opinion, now don't go getting your skirt all in a wad. When Steve stoops so low as to cover one of Twitt's songs, let me know, it'll be the first sign of the impending apocolypse or that Steve's back on the smack.DsilCaribe wrote:what do you have against Travis "Twitt" (very mature, JonathanJahfin wrote:I'll be seeing Steve Earle and Allison Moorer later this month, I hope to hell he won't be doing any Travis Twitt.)??

this is all I came up with .. .doesn't answer much, and doesn't answer my questionJahfin wrote:I've never really cared for him but at least he served as the anti-Billly Ray Cyrus for a while which was kinda humorous if nothing else.
now don't be a hypocrite JonathanJahfin wrote: Yet another annoying tactic of some BN'ers, when all else fails totally avoid answering the question.
It would be one thing if I was using it as a tactic to avoid answering your question, but I'm not. As you well know, this is ground well covered here particularly when it comes to questions you direct at me. I can recall many conversations with you where I called you on something but you never addressed it. No big whoop, but if you want my opinion of Travis Tritt, I'll give it to you. I think he sucks, particularly when compared to someone like Steve Earle. I've just never cared for Travis' well cultivated "outlaw" image that I find laughable at best or his overwrought MOR ballads. It's because of artists like him and Garth Brooks that there's even something called "alt.country". If you like him, fine, I think that's wonderful. So, whatever you do, don't consider this some kind of personal attack on your musical tastes because that's not what it is, it's just me expressing an opinion. I hope that answers your question.DsilCaribe wrote:this is all I came up with .. .doesn't answer much, and doesn't answer my questionJahfin wrote:I've never really cared for him but at least he served as the anti-Billly Ray Cyrus for a while which was kinda humorous if nothing else.

Garth and Travis. . . two of my all-time faves!! I love those guys, two of the greatest country artists of the 90s!!Jahfin wrote:It would be one thing if I was using it as a tactic to avoid answering your question, but I'm not.
