This Summer Concert Season Rocks!!! It all started off this Spring with us seeing Jimmy and the reefers, since then we have seen John Hiatt w/ North Mississippi Allstars, Mark Knopfler (dire straights), Tom Petty, The Doobie Brothers. Still to come we have tickets to see, Dick Dale w/ his child prodigy son, John Hiatt (again) w/ Sean Colvin, Sammy Hagar w/ Montrose, Steve Miller Band w/ George Thorogood and the Destroyers also w/ Greg Kihn Band, The Eagles, Dick Dale (2nd time this season), and ending the season the way I started with Jimmy and the Reefers in Vegas on Oct. 29th. If Jimmy does decide to play San Diego, we will throw that one in as well.

So what how is your Summer Concert experience shaping up....

Not much for me this summer with keet in college and both us moving to opposite ends of the U.S. Then there's the house remodeling.

BAB and I took keet and friend to see Chesney, Wilson and Kracker in Dallas before the big move.

We're going to see the Los Lonely Boys on the 13th in Seattle. Dadgumit I need a Texas Flag!!!

But I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing McCartney in November!!!

and sometime between the Boys and McCartney there's this marriage thing happening too. Damn I need a dress.........

So far its' been Ryan Adams twice and Whiskeytown once. Ryan's homecoming show in Raleigh in June was so good we took off to see him later that same week at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach. The impromptu Whiskeytown show took place at a club up the street following Ryan's gig at Meymandi in Raleigh.

The only other show I have on my agenda at the time is Allison Moorer and Steve Earle later this month at the Museum of Art in Raleigh.

Nothing so far, but:

Neil Diamond - Tonight!! (for hubby)
Jesse McCartney - tomorrow night - Regal Big Screen Concert (for keets)
Jimmy - Sept 4th (for me!!)

Tossing around the idea of Chesney in a few weeks, or Live Aid next month, or Jimmy in Vegas in October... we shall see.

Only that they come highly recommended by Jenn of DBTs fame ("check the mail if you would please, Jenn"). Let me know how it goes.

I took my girls to that last year, and I thought she put on a helluva show, and it was actually quite a rockin' show to boot!

My only advice, is that if thunderously loud, high-pitched screaming bothers your ears, you may want to bring earplugs for the pre-show moments when a guy with a mic comes out and asks the crowd "are you ready to have fun", "are you ready for Hilary", and about a dozen scream-inducing questions... Once the show started, it never got too bad, but before - eek!!

Have fun! It's cool of you to take her! :D
