Bubba, The Pig, and South Carolina

Here is a photo that you may get a kick out of. This was taken by a photographer for "The State" newspaper in South Carolina. It was made into a poster and some Phriends got one for me. I framed it so there is some glare from reflections. For those of you who do not know it Chareston, SC is the home office of a chain of grocery stores which are humorously called "Piggly-Wiggly" or "The Pig". The bottom yellow caption reads: Jimmy Buffett Live in Concert

I was at that concert! We were behind the stage, so mostly we saw the back of the shirt, which reads: "I'm BIG on the PIG" (their slogan).

We had a thread here way back then on where to buy one of those T-shirts.

BTW, the poster is cool!!!

I was shocked to see Piggly Wiggly's when I moved to the Dallas area in 98.

Apparently this is as far west as they go;

The Pig moved out of this area about 10 or so years ago.....Them and A&P and Winn-Dixie were the only large grocery stores for a good long while.... other than the local grocers who eventually went out of business because they could not compete with them.......

Nope, there are Pigs in Northern MN. Hugo's has a chain of 4-5 stores in the Red River Valley, or did the last time I was up there. :)
