Timing's tight this time, though..... If he heads out that way after the 29 Oct Vegas show, there's only a couple of days until most of the Reefers have to head back to the east coast for MOTM, starting 3 Nov. That'd be, like, travel to Maui on Sunday, play a show Monday or Tuesday, then travel six time zones back to the east coast on Wednesday to play on Thursday and Friday. Ouch......

You guys are ignoring a few possibilities:

1. He could play during the week of the 14th.
2. He could play a solo show.

Either scenario works for me, so here's to hope and dreams.

Solo show prolly wouldn't be at MACC. Prolly somewhere up on Millionaire's Row...or at Willie's place in Paia..or a Duke's on Oahu...or maybe at Oprah's in Hana. Guaranteed peace and quiet down island there.

Would just be too kewl if he showed up at the Whale's Tale in Lahaina....are Tatiana and TheWhaleShark on Maui now...or still stateside?

That would be a great show!!

Quick, someone call the Whale's Tale and find out what's on tap.

Week of the 14th is possible, but don't know how likely... it really breaks things up, especially for the band.... not to say it couldn't happen, but it seems less likely.

If he's planning on a Hawaii show, and if I had to guess, I'd lean toward a solo show or a show with another local performer, like ETP suggested.

I don't think Eric and Tatiana are at the Whale's Tale any more. Seems I remember a post about them moving to another place close by...

Seems like you all are pretty dialed-into what's going on in Maui.

My question: where can I find a bar where there'll be some guitar at sunset and cold drinks to s*** on? Something on the water would be preferred - and, please don't say CBiP in Lahaina.

I spent less than two days on Maui...

But there are folks here who can help you!

Also, go to the search function and search for Maui. There was a thread a couple of months ago with some good recommendations.

Wouldn't it be just too cool if Jimmy showed up at Coolers and sat down at that itty, bitty bar they have and sang a few tunes? Listen to Jimmy....watch SurfTV....listen to Jimmy....watch SurfTV.

You can still see them from the balcony of the pioneer inn.....and the cool cat has a much more parrothead froiendly atmoshpere.....though when we were there at new years I think we scarred the wait staff..... But Erik was feelin' no pain......

Perhaps bubba will do a show at Longi's again......????

I saw Jimmy the last time he was in Maui at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

It was a beautiful night, and I was with a beautiful Mexico City girl staying at the Grand Wailea. The concert was going to be the highlight of the Maui trip.

It was great for many reasons....moonlight, small cozy venue. The sound was OK, as he did not have all of his equipment. No visual screens, etc.

It was a bit strange...many people at the show seemed to be corporate types of locals who really were not parrotheads. Every time I stood up for one of his upbeat tunes, people behind me would freak....most people sat the whole time. Weird. We came early to tailgate, big mistake...no one was tailgating.

There is never a bad Buffett show (I have been to 100+), this just was not that great. However, it was in Maui, and I would do it again in a minute!

Hope he comes back to San Diego this year, we miss him. In the mean time, saw The Eagles Wednesday and off to see Tom Petty tomorrow and then off to Vegas in October for both of Jimmy's shows. Anyone going stop and see us in the brown/gold 42' bus with "Meet Me in Margaritaville" on the back and FINS BUS license plates. Cocktails will be served to all BNer's.

Sounds like you're in the perfect location to see concerts. I'm in Dallas - we didn't get Buffett this year. We also didn't get Tom Petty. The Eagles come through town fairly regularly as Don Henley lives here, but there's been so many 'farewell' shows, it's not as big a draw anymore.

Fu2k: I'm close to Dallas. Am sad Bubba's missed us the past couple of years, as I love tailgating at Starplex/Smirnoff. :D

MACC was a perfect evening. We partied with Tatiana and TheWhaleShark at The Whale's Tale before the show....took a bus to the venue.....had seats close enough to see the dirt on Jimmy's pheet....and one of his pics landed on my arm....and took the bus back to Lahania.

The worst seat in Maui would have still been WAY under the pavilion in Dallas. Plus, there's real grass under your pheet...and real chairs....with real room between the aisles!

Nobody stood around SGH and me, either, but that didn't stop us. We stood, yelled, cheered and sang along with Jimmy all night. People in phront of us were MACC season ticket holders and seemed to really enjoy themselves.

It was a magic night.

I'll go back anytime Jimmy plays MACC, even if I have to swim. ~Sigh~

It was Jimmy, but it wasn't any jukebox....Oh well the late dinner was good.....

We had a similar story.... lots of retirees with expectations of sitting through a Jimmy Buffett concert...Yeah right!!!! My wife and I were dancing and an old fart from behaind us asked us to sit down.....Very politely we said no....he asked the security guard to make us sit down....the security guard came over and saddled up to my wife and said "this is me talking to you. Are you having a good time?" Yes my wife responded. he then said "cool. Every now and then sit down between songs so this jerk behind you dosn't go nuts on us".....OK no problem....So we sat down between songs and had a drink and then got up to dance during the song.....

We were the ones who brought 95% of the beach balls to the show (until the middle of the second half atfer the intermission). We were amazed that the only balls we saw were the ones we brought....(6 dozen).....

At some point in the second half of the show there suddenly appeared a bunch of balls...we joked that someone from the crew felt bad that there weren't very many balls bouncing around and whent out and bought a bunch.

But all in all it was a most excellent show......
