... I heard a couple of meanings of the song "Knees of My Heart." Is it a song of trying to try to get the attention of someone (so to speak)?

I would say he's trying to get the attention of Jane. The whole album (in my opinion) is about her.

I read Somewhere that song was about Mardi Gras

but maybe more about Ash Wednsday that Fat Tuesday..
