"A lSalty Piece of Land" casting

Post by Capt'n Tiki »

Who would you cast as the characters, if the book was made into a movie? My husband & I have a few different actors in mind, but here's what we've kind of come up with. We're wondering who you guys picture? Here's what we've come up with:
Tully: Brad Pitt
Thelma Barson: Kathy Bates
Cleopatra: Joann Woodward or Blythe Danner (in old lady makeup)
Sammy Raye: Nathan Lane
The Silton Brothers: Steve Bushemi & Peter Stormare(the bad guys in Fargo)
Ixnay: Cheech Marin

What do you think????
Cancer SUCKS, But I’m feeling much better really I am

This could be an interesting thread....

If I were casting, I would think about Harrison Ford or Mel Gibson for Tully Mars.

He's too old for the part, or I think Keith Carradine would have made a good Tully.

Same here
It's not really that I think he's a bad actor, he just don't fit Tully.

he'll prolly end up as Thomas Magnum one day

The poor man's Harrison Ford, Dennis Quad might can work as Tully.

SGH-
I'm finally almost finished with the first box set of Magnum.
It works pretty good while on the treadmill.

My birthday's later this month, and I may just have to buy myself Season 2

I agree Dennis Quaid would work pretty well, too.

For Sammy Ray, how about the guy from Mrs. Doubtfire that made the costume for Robin Williams?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here but for some reason, when I think of Tully, Don Johnson comes to mind. :D :o

Whoever plays Tully needs to be someone who can actually ride a horse. Like George Strait.

You know, for some reason, I can see this.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.
