Photographer Shot Trying for Britney Photo
August 07, 2005 8:57 PM EDT

MALIBU, Calif. - A photographer was shot in the leg with a BB gun outside a home where he believed Britney Spears was attending a bridal shower, authorities said.

It was unclear who fired the BB as the photographer was staking out the event at the Malibu home Saturday evening, sheriff's Lt. Steve Smith said. He said firefighters bandaged the man's leg and he went to a hospital.

"It could've been somebody driving by, walking by, we have no idea where it came from," Smith said.

The photographer, identified as Brad Diaz, was about 200 yards from the home outside the home's long driveway when he was hit, Smith said. He was one of about 10 photographers standing in the street.

Smith originally said the home belonged to Spears, but said deputies later learned that it belonged to someone else and that Spears is a frequent guest. He did not identify the owner.

A message left with Spears' publicist was not immediately returned Saturday night.

My thoughts exactly. If Britney, Paris, Nicole Richey, Lindsay Lohan, Tara Reid, the Olsen Twins all disappeared from the public eye, would the world really be that worse off?

I could deal with that. At least they're not riding on the fact that they used to be hot like some of the ones listed up above.

I detest the papparazi.....should have shot them all..... or at least their camera lenses. In general, they don't care for or about people's privacy and very intrusivive..... Perhaps if they did care and honor and respect privacy, Lady Di would still be alive....and the celebs they go after would be more attentive to giving them access.
But with the tabloids paying BIG BUCKS for the exclusives is one BLEEP of an incentive for them to act like that....I wonder if the tabloids or celebs would pay big bucks for catching the papparazi showing what they (the papparazi) do???

Britteny Spheres is a talentless piece of trash SLUT who'd starve to death if she ever had to work for a living. (Unless she finds the right pimp).
But to answer the original question of this thread, HELL NO!!!

I can see why she'd have him shot. That last picture is not really that flattering..
