Probably not to everyone's satisfaction. And if you ban 2 or 3 people, then they'll always be someone new who comes along to cause trouble.

Moderators can NOT ban anyone. They can delete or lock threads, but that’s about all of our magical powers.
You can not please all the people all of the time. Some want a thread locked. Some want ‘free speech’. Everyone wants something different. Well in reality, we all can’t have want we want.
When someone new (usually) starts a thread that’s been discussed here (ad nauseam), and someone else posts a copy of a previous thread(s), it should be stopped right there. Yet there are those who find it necessary to beat that proverbial ‘dead horse’. No one says “you can’t post that question here”. Are they sometimes given a hard time, or met with sarcastic replies. Yes. No one can control what ANYONE says. If it’s out of line according to the rules on BN, then that will be addressed. I personally find it frustrating that people can’t utilize the ‘search’ feature.
Using the term ‘clique’ here is old, and over used. Unless you’re willing to list names that you feel is in this ‘clique’, your points do not hold water. It’s like saying “all of you”. It’s too generalized.
Moderators, who are NOT paid, do what they do here because they were asked to by the owner. If he felt that we were being biased, or doing a poor job, he could remove us at any time. Most of you have no idea whatsoever what goes on ‘behind the scenes’. What PM’s or emails are sent to posters or the owner regarding the behavior of some.
Posting things regarding cheese/pie/boobies are someone’s attempt to diffuse anger or nastiness starting up in a thread. It hurts no one. You just may not see it as funny. Some do. Humor is not always seen the same by everyone.
If you want to post on BN. GREAT! Just know that there are hundreds of different personalities and not everyone is gonna get along. But goodness, people. Have a few manners, consideration, and kindness to other people. If you don’t like a thread or person, stay the h*ll away from them. And if you can’t do that? Don’t let the door hit you in the @ss on the way out.
I, as many of the moderators do, read nearly every single post in every single thread, every day.. And I can’t post from work. I’d like to see some folks around here do that, and try to keep up and to be impartial to people’s opinions and words. What they say may mean something to them and entirely different to someone else.
This board was created because of Jimmy Buffett. But this site has expanded, and there’s not a darn thing wrong with that.
The decision to warn/ban anyone on this board resides with PHJim. Period. If you have a complaint about how HE runs HIS site? Tell him. Not one of us can make that decision. PERIOD. And just wishing someone would go away because you don’t like them or their posts is ridiculous.
Common sense and courtesy would be a real nice thing around here, people.
