I heard he was in town....

Post by 2fla »

......so I'm heading to the Duck In in a little while. Last night for the old place, sad to see it go. I heard Buffett checked into the nearest elite hotel last night and will show up and play with Mike Proffit tonight. We've heard these rumors for the last couple of weeks but if it's going to happen, tonight is the last night so it's now or never.

Phins crossed that he shows.....

Thanks Auntie!

I've got my 1987 show program (which is in pristine condition) and a Sharpie ready to go...and my digital....and my cell phone. I think I've covered everything I need to bring.

Wino: Oh yeah.....but the Duck In doesn't have PB  but there is this cell phone flask that Michelle left with me.

Smells? LOL!!!! I could only hope to get that close!

Had fun. Waaaaaay too many people for that small of a place. No Buffett. I really didn't think he would be there because there was absolutely no way that place was secure enough for him. He would have been mobbed and there would have been nothing anyone could do about it.

I'm still going to miss the Duck In. That's where Bob and I had our first date.......

There are a LOT of great ones in the area we'll be moving to. They can build all the condos they want around here 'cause I'm leaving!

I was hoping to report some exciting news tonight. This tall glass of parrot bay will help ease the pain some. The "Buffett will be here to close the Duck In" rumor was one of the best marketing ploys I've ever seen!

Bummer. But at least you got to say goodbye to the place.

I know what you mean, Peggy. Kathy and I had our first date at the 7-11 in Southaven, and it's no longer there. :-?
