Cheesburger in Paradise

Rumors have it of a new Cheeseburger in Paradise opening up in my region, but I have heard that Jimmy's affiliation with the restaurants are actually minimal. Does anyone know how he is connected with the restaurants besides him writing the song that gave them the Title of this place?? Thanks for the help.

I started to call each other that when we were in high school back in the
60's (oops...showing my age) & we still call each other that!!! Was nice
to see another use this special name

The CIP chain of restaurants was the brainchild of Jimmy Buffett and Chris Sullivan (from Outback). They are old friends, and thought it would be nice to have a casual based chain like this.
The agreement included Jimmy playing at some of the units, and receiving a small percentage from each of the first 17 units. At that point, there was a pre-arranged deal for Jimmy to sell out his interest in the chain. This has happened recently.
By the way, where are you from? I might be able to let you know the plans for the area...

I am in the Hagerstown, MD area, and rumor has it that they are planning to build a CIP there shortly. I found out that they have already applied for a building license, etc. If you know anything else...let me know.

Maryland and NC are both areas that are currently under development. Don't have any specifics for either area mentioned, but I'll see what I can hunt down.

Yep, in a new shopping complex by Perimeter Mall. Earlier this year, the projected opening date was November.

Got home from Cincy this afternoon and my neighbor said the paper reported #3 for Indy is on its way...and just a mile from my house!!!
The land has been cleared of the previous restaurant and bulldozers are at work...

DesPlaines is opening in December, on the 13th. Beyond that, Greg has many, many possibilities, but that's the only one that has been approved to this point.
