If I were a bigger Alan Jackson fan.......

Being from LA (that's "Louisville area", not Los Angeles or lower Alabama), I noticed a few months ago that Alan Jackson is scheduled to play at the Kentucky State Fair (in Louisville) on Saturday, August 20th. Of course Jimmy is going to be at Riverbend in Cincy on Sunday, August 21st (got my tix in hand & ready to go) the following night. Just wondering since Louisville is only about 1.5 hours or so away from Cincy it seems like it'd be real easy for JB to make a suprise visit to his ol' buddy AJ the night before the big concert in Cincy. Jimmy & the band have been off for quite some time & if he (and AJ) really wanted to he could do it. I certainly wouldn't count on it but "IF I WERE A BIGGER AJ FAN" then I might consider heading out to the fairgrounds that night.
Has anyone ever heard of Jimmy (in recent years) making a suprise visit to someone else's concert unannounced. We all know he "allows" other musicians to grace his stage every now & then but what about the other way around?

The only other time I remember JB showing up at shows was when a Coral Reefer was performing solo.

I was thinking exactly the same thing about Alan being in Louisville the night before Jimmy is in Cincinnati. Probably won't happen, but how convenient is that? I'm sure Alan doesn't have a show on Sunday night, so maybe he'll show up, or just be backstage, or just hang with Jimmy after the show...????

I wouldn't bet on that happening, there have been so many "Jimmy could show up here, or so and so could show up with Jimmy at <fill in the arena> but it never happens unless they are shooting a video.
I'd make the trip though to see Sara Evans.

She is opening the tour this summer for a lot of his dates.

And there was that time, when his failure to show up for a Mac concert on Long Island (because the poster expected him to do so) was viewed as disloyal and disrespectful...

The first time I saw JB live was in Louisville. 1990 Feeding Frenzy Tour or as they called it Jimmy's Jump Up Tour. I think it was a good show!
