Being Internet savvy is one thing... keeping up with the latest trends is something else. That said...
What is a BLOG?
Why do you use a BLOG?
Who post or reads a BLOG?
How does a BLOG differ from BN?

A "blog" stands for web-log.It is basically klinda like a journal that someone posts on a webiste, like LiveJournal or something similar. The difference I think between a blog and BN is that a blog is just someone putting somehting up without a real discussion, like a newscast or op/ed in a newspaper, whereas BN there is a two way communication.
People use a blog to put information in a medium where millions of people are able to view it. This is interesting because you have now millions of conduits for news reporting from the eye-witness.

Form some it's an outlet for their creative writing, for others it's to announce what's going on in your life and keep friends posted on what's up with you, it can be used to share experiences, announce events, and since most blogs can have comments left on them by others - you CAN toss out a question/ask for advice/get opinions from others ... just not in a live chat format (which neither is BN really... since it's not "streaming"... same principle different pace) BUT most importantly - it's YOUR very own area to do with and say what you wish...
and I'm 29...

Here's a couple of examples, a friend who got married had a blog for months before hand for all of her family and friends to update them on how things were going, progress, planning, frustrations, etc. It saved her a lot on phone calls and time, and everyone could just go and already know how things were going.
I have two every year around the holidays. One is a black friday blog where I post deals I find, rumors, sales, and so on. Friends and family are able to see what's on sale and if they need me to, I can pick something up for them in case they can't make an opening or sale.
I also have a thanksgiving and christmas blog where I keep the entire family/friends up to date on time, menu, who's coming, and any associated plans for the holidays. It has worked out GREAT the last couple of years. Saved me hours on the phone.
I'm almost 31

a good friend of mine has a blog; she is a stay at home mother of an 11 month old, and someone with great writing skills. the blog provides her a great outlet for her writing, and lets her keep all of her friends and family informed about her families' life. There also is an opportunity for you to leave comments after each day's post.
She also is very aware that a blog is in the public domain, and that she does need to self-censor some. there has been a fair amount of press about this issue-people getting fired for posting negative things on ntheir blog regarding their job.

It's a very ugly word, it reminds me of crusty dark stinky things.
