.... on your credit cards...
When you get a reciept do you ever sign something other than your name just to test these people?

As I go by my middle name I once signed my D/L just
with my middle name and my last
it was 3 years before anyone ever looked and said something..

As I was looking at the choices I realized that at one time it would have been definately the second one as how I drunk I was depended on the signature

I've noticed in our travels that different states approach this matter with varying degrees of seriousness. Here, I scribble. Other state actually request your license to authenticate. I think that is great...
Here, you could never sign the back of your card and no one would ever notice. (I could prove this!!)

First one for me, although since I just changed my name I screw it up often and still sign my maiden name quite a bit.

A little over a year. But I didn't change my name until last May because we waited for Matt to adopt Victoria so she wasn't the last to have his name.

My name's too long to sign. I refuse to sign my nickname,
so it's just first & middle initials and a scribbled last name.
First name=8 letters, Last name=11 letters (couple of "m"s in it too)
That's not just on credit card receipts, but on everything.

Just a scribble...
You can clearly make out a "B" and the rest is art.
That's OK by me. I'm paid to be an artist.

Sometimes I'll sign my real name, but a lot of times I will sign "i stole this card", especially when they hand the card back to me right after swiping... If the cashier holds on to the card to check the sig. then I'll sign for real.
I work in retail and I train all my employees to always verify the signature... I've caught a lot of people using other people's cards this way. You'd be suprised how often it happens.

I know American Express PAYS you if you nab a stolen card and return it to them... I've made a few bucks that way! (It's like $50)

I sign my name exactly as it appears..
I have had my credit cards stolen..more than once..
One time a clerk , in the Mall, copied the number, and the security number off the back and charged $4000 of merchandise in less than 24 hours..Mail order stuff....(she had very good taste, I must admit) but it flagged my card for unusual activity..
Recently, a male stole 3 of my cards and used them all over NE Florida...Surf shops, bars, restaurants, Doctors, pharmacies....which goes to show you they really don't look , as my name on the Card is Constance...He didn't look anything like a Constance..nor did he sign it the way I always have ..It seems they are making the merchants responsible for the charges, not the credit card company..as it says "See ID" on the back of all my cards.......
What a mess.....
