So are you still with your first girl, or your "second favorite"?

Baseball: Twins. Been watching them thru thick, and thin since the mid-70s and the "Minnesota Lumber Co" days

Football: No real favourite pro teams. College: Montana, Montana State, and whoever is going to kick the crap out of the Buckeyes to make the locals whine.

Hockey: Minnesota Northstars. Winnipeg Jets.

Basketball: Celtics. Gotta love the Bird. Liked the Pacers when he was coaching them, but not like the Celts.

Soccer: say what?

Women's Basketball: yeah, sure.

Arena Football: feh.

I have been a Giants fan since a kid when Willie Mays and the young phenom Willie McCovey were players.

I have always been a 49ers fan even in the dreary days of the 70's when most of my family deserted and became Raiders fans. Then of course the Raiders became the LA Traitors and everybody came back to the 9ers when Joe M came on board. I dished a lot of s**t for that.

Napa High School always rocks as does UCDavis. Because of UCD's affiliation with Cal, I am a Bears fan as well, which causes me a lot of grief since Jeepgirls friends and family are all Stanford fans...

I loved the Warriors back in college days but I just cant deal with the NBA anymore

TOTALLY the home side! THis is something I feel very strongly about.

For years as a kid, I supported a football side in Sydney, as there was none in our city - it was the area that my grandparents lived and my parents used to live in - so to me that was a family tie. My brother, supported another team - cause they were winning and there was no family tie ...... :x

So when my city had a football team admitted ot the national competition - I got behind them TOTALLY - I still have a soft spot for the Sydney side I supported - but this team is MY TOWN TEAM! I live in a country where sports people still nearly as a whole, play for their home town - most of our top 17 players are from this area - and I cannot for the life of me - understand people that live here that cannot stand them - they are what we are all about ...... we choose to live here ... we should support them ...

off my soapbox now!!

Just throwing a question out there ...

by "home team" - how many come from the home town????

Or are they people that were lured to play there for $$?

I grew up as a fan of the Vols living in LA - lower Alabama (we moved to Mobile from Tennessee when I was 4). We would go to Saints games from time to time, and I loved the Braves & Cubs from watching every game during the summers with my Grandfather. Now, I watch baseball with little more than a passing interest, am hooked on the Titans (though I still pull for the Saints as long as they aren't playing the Titans), attended my first NHL game when the Predators opened play in Nashville (can't wait for this season), and I still bleed Orange in all college sports. I go hot and cold for the NBA. Somehow I started liking the Knicks during Jordan's reign; probably to be contrary more than anything else. They have really sucked for a while now so I have pretty much lost all interest in pro basketball. I would like to see the Grizz succeed in Memphis.
