We never get Jimmy on any radio stations around here. Margaritaville on a rare ocasion and five o'clock somewhere on the country stations but thats it. If i were to hear cilcia on the radio one day i think i would drive off the road, out of shock.

Lex and Terry (a morning talk show), cast all over the country, call people sons of bitches all the time and it's never beeped....and they say it quite often

I think what's acceptable on the radio now and what was acceptable on the radio (and TV for that matter) has changed dramatically since "Changes..." was released. Chances are, the edited version of the song has somehow managed to stay in circulation at radio stations all this time along with censored versions of CDB's "Devil", Steve Miller's "Jet Airliner", Pink Floyd's "Money", etc. but somehow the Who's "Who Are You" has managed to escape the censors all these years. I'm also pretty sure that during certain times of the day (midnight til 6 am?), explicit language is allowed by the FCC. Of course that doesn't cover the morning radio shows so I'm not sure how they get away with it.

Heard it yesterday evening on the local Jack FM station here in Denver.

It wasn't edited.

Thanks for all of the input. The "censored" versions of most of the songs mentioned, I know about. Other than "Margaritaville" so little Buffett is played on commercial radio that I found it interesting that the changes were ever made. And "Manana" censored, gee who would have thought that song was EVER played on commerical radio!?

It goes from "if it suddenly ended tomorrow I could somehow adjust to the fall" and then the it goes directly into the chorus without finishing the line. It sounds so stupid
I never really thought about it.... but I just heard it on the lame radio station playing in my office... and YUP.... they cut it out!

Yet the talk show I was listening to in the car @ lunch had a p*** star on and they were discussing her ummmm.... new products.... designed in her likeness if you get my drift. Somehow that is acceptable but son of bitches isnt... Go figger!
The FCC either needs to set a defined set of unacceptable words and phrases, or quit even trying.
But if they quit trying, then Colin Powell's son would have to unwad his size 14 Victoria's Secret thong and actually get a real job.

In Denver we'll hear CILCIA and M'ville quite a bit. Once in a while we'll hear Pencil Thin Mustache or Pirate Looks @ 40. When we hear Mexico it's always the JT version.
