Wrigley Show...

So I tried to call both Wrigley and Tickets.com (the Distributor) to get an answer on if I had to buy a ticket for my son to attend the show as a "lap kid" or not and noone could give me a straight answer. He is 5 months old and is really calm and travels well (or I would not consider bringing him)...we call him our "Pack -n-Go Baby". We will be carrying him in one of those baby harnesses where they strap on to your belly. One person I asked said, 1 ticket per person, but we are not sure. Another said lap kids are generally ok...and kept bouncing be between the cubs and the ticket distributor when I tried to get a simple email OK-ing the whole thing (I am coming from Indiana so I don't want to go thinking everything is cool and a gate person turns me away and I can't go to the show and am out big bucks!!!)

Anyone ever bring a kid to a show? If so...what was the concensus then?

Thanks!!!

Generally the rule is under 24 months is considered "lap eligible".

I think the person who told you 1 person = 1 ticket didn't have their head attached. Everwhere I've ever went with my under-2-year-old has been free.

Especially with a 5-month old that will be in someone's arms the whole time is OK. The only time I would think there'd be a problem is if you're having to deal with stroller or carrier storage.

I don't think they'd turn you away at the gate, and if someone tried, I'd ask to speak to guest services.

Still... I hope you're not sitting by me... even if he slept thru the entire show, at 5 months I would still find him a distraction.

How so?

A few years back my wife and I were at Alpine next to a couple who had a baby no more than 2 months or so and we hardly noticed at all...actually hit it off with them...

A bit too young in my book....

The noise
The crowds
The drunks
The isle dancers
The spilled beers

You will not have the fun YOU should have! Leave him with Grandma or a reliable sitter!

1st choice would be grandma's house, but she is 5 hrs away and mommy is not ready to be away from him for 2 days...

If he does not come I sell the ticket to a friend and go without her...not best option here, ya know?

Normally, I wouldn't stick my nose into other people's business, but since you asked.....I can't imagine why somebody would want to bring a 5 month old baby into such an adult environment, nor would I particularly want to be sitting next to somebody with an infant with them at a Buffett show. I'm not trying to be mean, and this is just my opinion, but I think I would spring for a baby-sitter for this one. There will be other shows in the future to enjoy with your son as he gets older

Sorry, I hadn't read your follow-up post prior to submitting mine, so I didn't know about your baby-sitting situation And I hope it didn't appear that I wasn't "playing nice  ." When you asked for a concensus, that's what I thought you were asking for. I understand that it is your choice and I certainly wouldn't begrudge you, whatever decision you make. Enjoy the show and welcome to BuffettNews, where we'll give you our opinion, whether you want it or not!

Spike:

One of the reasons you are not getting a good answer is that Wrigley Field is largely making things up as they go along. There has never been a free-standing concert at Wrigley so this is all new to them.

A friend of mine works for a local company that has a longterm contract for a skybox--when the concert was first announced, she began inquiring about their access to their skybox and kept being told that they were "working on it". And she finally got word from them, after tickets went on sale to the public. Subsequent communication with Wrigley continues to be difficult at best, so they are still trying to figure this out.

Good luck with this-I think that is probably awfully young to be bringing into a crowd with a lot of people who are pretty drunk, but you are the best judge of what is right for your situation.

No, I do appreciate the opinions as well! I am kinda biased towards my boy (obviously), so the concencus opinion is good to see as well, so keep 'em coming!!! maybe it would be better to just go with a friend and let the wifey stay home with him? Kinda sux tho...My wife and I have gone to every show together for all of our shows we have been to

Anyone have opinions that say take him and enjoy? He already has 3 hawaiian shirts...that counts for something, right? (he's trying to catch up to daddys 27 in his collection0

Just because I find infants distracting. Even when I had 'em, I "walked on eggshells" so to speak, in hopes they didn't turn into "screamin mimi's!"  (and for the record, both of mine were very pleasant and good natured most of the time - I've just seen others who weren't.)

Plus people would be doting over him and how cute he is in his little parrothead getup, and others would be concerned for his well being because it's too loud, or too cold, or too hot...

In other words, I find infants distracting! 8)

But, I hope you can find the answer you need from Wrigley, or a babysitter, or a friend to take your wife's place next to you... whatever works best for you. Good luck! :)
