Time for a Change

This may be bold from a new poster, but I have been a fan since the Main Point days (that's pre-parrothead era). I have seen Jimmy since then at the Mann, the Tweeter and now CBP in Philly. Last night's Springsteen encore left me with this thought:

Just as Bruce will take a year or so off from E Street to do an acoustic tour, I think it's time for Jimmy to do the same - an all acoustic summer tour next year in the shed venues with perhaps Mac and a bass or harp player. Get back to the songs and the story telling.

Maybe the CR Band could do a criss crossing "Margaritaville Review" tour with guest vocalists to keep the tailgate partyer happyl

Just a thought...not trying to spoil the party.

Many of us have been wishing that for many years.

I enjoyed the video of JB and Ralph playing for the troops in Guantanamo Bay...next question is...where did that video go??

That would be awesome. Jimmy digging a little deeper into his catalogue with an accoustic guitar - perfect!

I've been thinking that the Reefers should tour as a group and play their own stuff. Mac could sing Last Man Standing and his others, Pete could sing Blue Guitar, Club Trini, Amy Lee, Roger singing Scoth songs, etc.

I would much rather pay $100 + for that type of show than for the
Stadiums
Hold
Infinite people
Tour going on now.

And maybe only play 1-2 SYKBH.

Would LOVE it! :pirate:

While I have no qualms with the way he's doing things now, I often say that I hope to someday, sometime, see him in an intimate acoustic or Beach Band setting.

I'm with everyone on this. I'm 25 and I can't stand the hits being played everynight. Just a little boring. The acoustic tour would be great!! The Sag Harbor show is to me the best live album that he's ever done. I wish he would get what Bruce does minus the clapping and no beer drinking and that stuff!!

I got a recording of the Sag Harbour show from several years ago. Just Jimmy and 300 or so people and his guitar. What a great show. Awesome stories, he forgets the words, stops, laughs at himself, etc. My only concern with a small venue acoustic tour would be access to tickets. I can see $500 from scalpers just to walk in. Hell, there were 40,000 in Philly last night, now try to find an intimate setting and watch the prices skyrocket.

Would be awesome.

I went to the first and third Sag Harbor shows and I have seen him twice at the Double Diamond in Aspen. I don't remember what the tickets cost but I can say that I would have paid a hell of a lot more. I don't go to the big shows anymore because its all the same crap. So now I save my fun tickets and will spend them on the next acoustic show he plays. Even though I don't make a lot of money, I would gladly pay $500 bucks to go see another small venue show. Plus, I figure I used to drop an average of $400 bucks between my wife and I for each regular show we went to. By boycotting this year and last years tour, I've saved a minimum of $800 AND I have not had to deal with the aggravation of getting screwed by Ticketbastard.
