Philly sat show
I thought the show was awesome. Our seats were on the field stage left about 20 rows back. The energy level was unbelievable and Jimmy seemed to be really enjoying himself. I was really cool to turn around and see the entire crowed during fins..........
Hope he's back next year again....

Catmann - that's the most levelheaded recap/review I've read on this board so far. Well thought out and, in my mind, very accurate.
Many bands with long standing followings stick to the recorded versions to a fault - ever see the Eagles live - they are so accurate (and good) to the originals its scary. Only the Jam band genre really "interprets" their recordings in concert settings - some like that some don't. I think the best example of a major artist who keeps his material fresh is Springsteen - he'll change songs night to night eg doing Thunder Road acoustically one night and then a full tilt rock version the next - really makes it interesting for his fans.
Your comment about lighting was "spot" on! On Thurs. night, there were times when Jimmy was on the edge of the stage playing to the audience and he was in shadows! Not lit at all! Unbelievable at a major concert. It seems everything was basically lit the same throughout the show - very few dramatic effects. Time for a new lighting director.

I was wondering the same thing. yes, checked ebay and either it's not there or my key word search is waaaaaay off! I don't think that anyone bothering to sit is the first 10 rows would sell it though. What type or arm band did he throw? I saw a couple of those go into the crowd too.LIPH wrote:Have you checked eBay?PA PAR8 HED wrote:I want to know who caught the Phillies jersey Jimmy threw after the 1st encore?!?!?!![]()

Here's my 2 cents on this weekends shows:
Thursday:
Parking Lot -- Late arriving crowd, too many punks with whippets, BIG mess left behind, still had a good time though.
Show -- Sound was really bad for the first 2-3 songs, but improved throughout the show. Set List was good. Crowd was up (for the most part) and seemed into the show Jimmy really seemed sincere (he did give the same spiel before every song that he's been doing for almost every show I have heard / seen). Glory Days was a great surprise and the fireworks were awesome. In all, I thought it was one of the better shows I've seen.
Saturday:
Parking Lot -- Early arriving crowd, not as many punks (at least not where I was). Had a blast! The downfall was the rain (which no forecaster predicted... what the hell happened to partly sunny ???) There were some cons regarding the mess afterwards, but it didn't put a damper on the evening.
Show -- FANTASTIC! Sound was inproved from Thursday. Set List was incredible. The crowd was as jacked and as loud as ever. Jimmy really gave a special performance and seemed to be feeding off the crowd. He had a ton of energy on Saturday. This one ranks at the top!

Do what I did.. I started chanting P-A-T-R-I-O-T-S PATRIOTS!! surprised I didn't get my a$$ kicked..
(well I did.. maybe that's why I ended up face first in the concrete..
)
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I really have to say that the show itself on Saturday was incredible. Great set list, wonderful performance and beautiful fireworks. I was down on G, row 2, but unfortunately was right at the aisle. I'm not 20 anymore, and I guess I just don't appreciate the drunken idiots falling all over myself and my husband. Fortunately my mom and dad were just far enough in to not have to get the brunt of it.
The two worst highlights for my evening was the guy who crawled over my husband once, nearly knocking the poor lady in front of me over, which I managed to catch by the arm before she toppled over, then a couple of minutes later, the guy decided to crawl back over her, and attempted to use me as leverage, grabbing a good handful of my breast as he did so. I've never seen my husband (6'4", very solid) choke slam someone as fast as he did. I think the guy eventually crawled away.
Later, he elbowed the chick behind him who kept taunting him about his eagles jersey. She didn't open her mouth again.
Both times, security stood right next to him, watched him do it, and the one guy actually laughed. Security wasn't really doing a good job.
We just had one drunk after another literally crawling and falling all over us. I think I spent half my time just fending them off.
Think I'll stick the club levels from now on
But it was a great show.

Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all..

Sy, the club levels weren't much better... as stated in another thread I got knocked over, hit the seats in front of us and eventually landed on the concrete.. The funny thing is not even 30 seconds before it happened I leaned over and said to Rednekk, this could be dangerous.. Needless to say I was a little hesitant to stand up and dance the rest of the night.. did the lean back on the chair while standing and holding on for dear life..
same group of drunken idiots almost knocked over the older lady that was originally standing next to me before I moved down a row.
