Not sure how the field survived here but I do know it was wrecked last year at Fenway.. that and turned the grass brown. Haven't seen a game since the Stones but I also heard the stage tore up the field and delayed the game the next day by an hour so the grounds crew could work on it a little longer.

I've heard that almost the entire outfield had to be resoded.
The game was delayed an hour. I had a friend who went.

Saturday night was the first I'd seen Jimmy since 1999 at Merriweather. I thought it was a very good concert, the sound where we were was fine, and the Coral Reefers were great. It was my first visit to the Phillies new stadium, and I was impressed. That said, I'd still mush rather see Jimmy at a smaller venue like Merriwaether, but I understand why he's playing the bigger places now.

I've never seen my husband (6'4", very solid) choke slam someone as fast as he did. I think the guy eventually crawled away.

Later, he elbowed the chick behind him who kept taunting him about his eagles jersey. She didn't open her mouth again.

Both times, security stood right next to him, watched him do it, and the one guy actually laughed. Security wasn't really doing a good job.
90% of the so called security force looked to be about 20 years old.

Have not seen anything about that. They had it covered well enough with those metal sheet thingys. Of course you really had to be careful walking. There were a lot of "bumps" where the stuff was pieced together I guess.

MA_Buffett_Fan23 wrote:Sy, the club levels weren't much better... as stated in another thread I got knocked over, hit the seats in front of us and eventually landed on the concrete.. The funny thing is not even 30 seconds before it happened I leaned over and said to Rednekk, this could be dangerous.. Needless to say I was a little hesitant to stand up and dance the rest of the night.. did the lean back on the chair while standing and holding on for dear life.. same group of drunken idiots almost knocked over the older lady that was originally standing next to me before I moved down a row.
That's such a shame. I really hope you're feeling better :(

Worst part is, I sat in the club level on Thur and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Not sure whether it was just luck or a different crowd between the two days.

As for seats, I have to say that the Diamond Club seats, although way back, were quite nice. The entire row in front of us was empty most of the first set and the second set my wife and I were the only ones in our row! Room is good!

On the other hand, the Diamond Club wanted $7.00 per beer and $10.50 per Margarita! $17.50 was a painful bill, but not as bad as the guy next to me who bought his "crowd" 8 Coors Lights and looked stunned when the guy said $56.00!

After the first Round we found Mcfaddens and they had $5.00 Margaritas and $4.00 Coronas, so basically half price! We stayed there outside of the show times and even smuggled one round out the door to our seats.

They did not even have any real decent food in the Diamond Club. Not sure it lived up to the hype other than clean bathrooms a few steps away - which was worth it in itself!

Beer was $7.50 at the concourse level establishments. I never saw a margarita or I would have bought one. I did not see a t-shirt stand either. I thing we bought a bottle of water $3.50 and a pretzel inside. That's it.

T-shirt stands were peppered throughout the concourses. Unfortunately, they tried to maximize thier locations, which resulted in little quantity and few sizes at each location. I had to walk for my tshirt, but I got it.
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"
