I was at both concerts in Philly and I don't know if anyone agrees but Sat. night was so much better. The set lest had so much energy and the sound was so much better. Jimmy seemed to be having so much fun, more than I have ever seen him have. The only thing I was bummed about was I could not get on the big screen with my Buffett Phillies jersey. Other than that It was great. I loved Fruitcakes and Scarlet Begonias....
Anyone agree about Jimmy last night??

I agree, we were also there and it was great. It's great how he appreciates what his fans do for him and basically keep him going. It's great to see a a entertainer having so much fun.

Last night was absolutely amazing... it seemed to me that he was playing to record this concert on CD with all the set list changes and awesome songs he did.

Concert was great, I think the best I have seen this summer. The set list was changed up a bit which was a nice change and very up beat and energetic! Was sooo glad to hear Caroline Street, I LOVE that song live! The fireworks were great at the end and helped us slip out past all the people watching them, we got out of the lot a bit quicker. Saw Zuke's (my hubby) jersey I counted 3 times. So that was really cool.
Another cool thing is a couple rows in front of us was the coach of the Flyers, "Hitch" Hitchcock. Great guy, talked to him briefly, got his autograph and told him "Good score getting Forsberg". Very cool.
I am sure Zuke will write more of our experience later. It was great seeing everyone!

Last night was definitely a great concert. I was in the 11th row... Center stage! It was incredible, but I definitely started to get a bit claustophobic... especially when the people next to me started to almost fight. Kinda wierd.
The parking lot didn't compare to Greatwoods, but we still had a great time.... especially slip n' slide when it started to rain!!! That was definitely fun!
I ended up getting stuck up near the sound booth during intermission and tried to fight the crowds back to my seat but then realized when I got back to my seat, the concert would be over. Crowd control was out of control. People were everywhere... But what can you do... Still an amazing concert. And I got to watch the second half from the sound booth with Rich, the sound guy. Even though I would have much rather been down front dancing up a storm to glory Days, and One Particular Harbour......
Oh, and I got an original copy of the set list for last night! It's the little things that excite me, I know!
Didn't make the video during Changes, but was up on the big screen when I was dancing up a storm during Hot hot hot, so that's enough to make me happy. Even if I didn't get up there, it was still a great day.
Looks like I just may be heading to vegas now. Stan and Rich were trying to get me to go to Wrigley, but I'm a responsible student now so I can't do it. But they promised me a crew pass for Vegas... So we'll see. I'm thinking about going the weekend of the 22nd... My birthday's the 20th so I think I deserve a weekend in Vegas! And I have a free airfare with my sky miles... I just have to make sure there aren't any block out dates...
But great time yesterday! It was great meeting all the people I hadn't met, and it was seeing all my old phriends as well!!!
Till Vegas......

Nope - they weren't my tatas.... First show this year the girls weren't shown. But it's ok. Probably better that way considering I need to act as a member of the legal community now. When I talked to Stan, he said his crews were only out in the parking lot for maybe about 15 minutes yesterday because of the rain. They didn't want to risk ruining the equipment. There's always Vegas though!

Yeah I noticed the video crew never made it to my neck of the tailgating woods. It'll make my brother feel happier. He really wanted to get on it this year.

How come the bottom ad of this thread is for Brain Tumor Patients?
More likely do I have a brain tumor and the entire Philly concert a hallucination and a side effect from chemo?

I had problems finding everybody too, between getting there late and the damn rain

Would have helped if I remembered to bring my cell list
I did meet some great people though who helped me and my buddy stay fairly dry, Thanks to Rasspy. I also met moog, priate@43, BJ/wife (signed the tiki god) Port, SGH, I hung out with the AWAC too

I had to be close to the rest of you I think. TTom told me you were just down a bit, my bad, we went down but somehow we missed you...was it too many people or too many beers?
Sorry I missed you HG and Zanth, I'll save the bottle of Parrot Bay for next time, rum isn't me anyway.
The Set list and show was GREAT, Fun day and night!

We were stuck in a people jam and the guy in front of me says "Lets do the Eagles chant!", to which I replied "Sorry, I don't know it." He looked at me kinda funny.
No, I didn't have the stones to tell him I was from Pittsburgh and knew the Steelers chant....

Jimmy really looked like he loved it. What did he call it...chicken skin???
The rain in the lot was a bummer ...twice!!... but I made new friends in an RV and they kept me dry and fed. The "bartender" said his motto was "When it rains, I pour", so they kept me liquidated too.
Did anyone see the Mango Men in the parking lot? They were fun!
I saw Zanth but that was about it.
I had better seats on Thursday but the Saturday show rocked!
Will he be back in Camden next year?

Being my first Buffett show I have the following observations:
1) Very fun to be in a circus environment again (note avatar for the other circus)
2) Crowd enthusiasm really makes a concert fun and there was no shortage of energy!
3) The lot (aka Shakedown St.) is better as the older crowd minimizes the amount of kids who give truth the the perpetual "maybe you had to much to fast".
4) Sound was acceptable. For a stadium show it was not too bad at all. First song was iffy at best, but then it seemed to settled down a bit. The sound volume was about perfect - not too loud to cause reverb and distortion, and not too soft to lose the punch. This is all from the Diamond Club area straight back. Slower songs came through well. I have heard much worse (like the Rolling Stones a few times!). The only outdoor act I ever heard do stadiums perfectly was of course, The Grateful Dead, and even then it was only in the Dan Healy (soundman) years. After that it was more like it was Sat night in Philly.
5) Performance-wise I thought Jimmy was having fun. The song intro stories were a little canned and I was tired of him saying "it's Saturday night" over and over. That kind of banter only works when you allude to a special "bust-out" song rarely played or something.
6) The playing was pretty good. The band is mostly polished. My only gripe is that I sense (from just this one show) that they play pretty much note for note the same way each time. Of course I am spoiled by the never-ending changes of song playing and set-lists of that "other band". I saw Pearl Jam last fall and even they seemed to sound like their Cd's note for note, which I was shocked about. I think live performances should be free to explore the music in different ways - but that is just me.
7) The stage was cute, but nothing particularly special considering the amount of money these shows make. The lights were downright lame. I've seen better lighting at bar shows. I think some acts forget or do not understand the underlying impact a light show can have on a concert. Where's Betty Cantor?? I think a few more non-live videos on the screens would have been entertaining as well.

The fireworks were spectacular. Never seen anything like that at a concert - maybe that's where all the money went from the stage/light show?????
9) Overall I was very pleased. Mostly because I would expect a near ditto copy of the show, I do not think I would see him twice on the same tour. That and all of the auxiliary expenses of such an outing!
10) Definately worth the experience - I would suggest anyone go at least once!

The fireworks were pretty cool. That makes Saturday the second show in which I got to see fireworks, with the first being when he played Jones Beach in 2002 on his and Jane's 25th anniversary (sp?). So I've been pretty lucky in that respect.
