Americans.
I wonder how many of those taxes the Founding Fathers would consider unjustified...or "taxation without representation"

(Guess I took the Dude thread to heart.)

I have no qualms about you right to b**** about taxes.
Go ahead, I'll listen.
At first it just seemed so preposterous to do so with an egregiously inaccurate "in-box polecat" that I was sure there had to be another explanation.
But let's forego the analysis of historical truthfulness and conditions in this country just after the turn of the century. 'Cause that gets us nowhere.
I didn't take it as an insult, Dave.
Sorry if I came across as such.
I apparently was venting my anger over the typical politician's cure-all for everything-RAISE TAXES, and if something isn't taxed, CREATE a tax for it.
Your argument that wishing for the ways of the past getting us nowhere may very well be true, but I have to be honest-I really wish I lived during the era of my grandparents.
That being said, I have to admit, in veiw of everything that's happened over these past few days, months, and even years, I'm taking some solace in the fact that more than half of the sands in my hourglass are on the bottom, if you get my drift.
