Shots Fired at Evacuation Choppers

I"m sorry BEG. I'm really struggling with this. I took several cases of water to a national guard drop off today and made a red cross donation. So I want to help. But I don't think shooting at helicopters, commiting rape, spending your time and energy says please help me. I know what I had to deal with was nothing compared to this. I'm saying that these people aren't helping themselves either.
I'm upset at the footage I see, then I feel bad for not feeling compassion. But i'm being honest here with my feelings. I want to help but feel anger toward a good percent of the population who remain.

How about the working poor, who struggle to make ends meet?

It must be nice to be you...living life without a care in the world...

THey are where they are because of their CONTINUING POOR DECISIONS. They have child upon child even though they can't even lift themselves out of poverty, muchless ANOTHER MOUTH TO FEED. How about some PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. QUIT being a VICTIM. START OWNING UP, and not being a DRAIN ON MY PAYCHECK DAY IN AND DAY OUT. THe working poor don't even PAY INCOME TAX. I do. I SUPPORT THEIR PITIFUL EXISTANCE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY CONTINUE TO MAKE p***-POOR DECISIONS TIME AFTER TIME. It makes me absolutely SICK. Quit lamenting your situation and do something to change it. QUIT POPPING BABIES. QUIT WASTING YOUR MONEY ON TVs AND CABLE. START SAVING.

I have no sympathy for people that make poor decisions. If NO happened to me, and my house and 99% of my personal belongings were gone, I WOULD ALREADY HAVE A CONTRACT ON A NEW HOUSE. I can live for a few years off of SAVINGS. WHY? BECAUSE I DON'T CONTINUALLY MAKE p***-POOR DECISIONS.

I don't think anyone here would disagree with your statement regarding shooting at helicopters etc. Those folks need to be dealt with. But the reality is that a small portion of that population is doing those things. Must the rest pay the price?

Regardless of what some feel folks SHOULD have done (since none of us know each individual circumstance), does that mean that we turn our backs and let people die? Do the babies and children deserve to die simply because they are poor and black? It seems to me that we're getting dangerously close to ethnic cleansing here...by means of this disaster.

Good job throwing out he race card. I was anticipating it would come out in some form or another. I hope more WT got what was coming to them than blacks did. Granted, 80% of NO population was black, but still.

Let me put it this way.........

Were people offered a way out....YES. I fo not condemn nor do I condone the people that made th choice to stay behind to protect what little they have.

THEY ARE NOT THE PEOPLE I REFER TOO! as looters. If they go to an abandandoned grocerystore and get some grub to fee themselves and whatever family then so be it.

People keep trying to confuse people doing there best to survive and feed their friends/family.

I have no problem with that. I have repeatedly stated that.
Maybe some will see this as a double standard but pretty much eveyr does not seem to have a problem with anyone taking life sustaining supplies from stores...

Again my poll question was about VIOLENT AND DANGEROUS looters and what should be done with them.

I can/could say many things....someone said that we don't know what we would we would do. Yes I do! I will do what it takes to survive. I will take "the shot" if presented and warrented. You don't have to like it. You don't have to accept it. YOU DON'T HAVE TO RISK TO LIVE WITH IT OR DIE WITH IT. Personally I could not live with such a situation by allowing a friend or family member or loved one to be raped or killed, and standby and do nothing and allow it to happen without giving my all to prevent it. Maybe you could and can.....I could not. Sounds like "brave speak" or whatever to you....believe as you will....

Do you want to condemn aomeone dor shooting a looter ? The looter may only be stealing food but you and you family/ loved ones need that food too..... You make the decision who is more important....I already have...
And no you don't have to like it. You don't even have to believe it....unless you are the looter affecting me and my loved ones/ neighbors.

I am a realist. That means I speak the REAL TRUTH. I am not some idiological dreamer. I deal with facts, and that chit happens. I do my best to prevent chit from happening to me. sorry sam, i sort of got sidetracked. i voted "none of the above" just because i was thinking about the mentally unstable. those that HONESTLY know not what they do. aside from those looting out of necessity, shoot away. these people ARE scum.

I would suggest this ends all discussions. If a person isn't able to put themselves in somebody elses shoes when things are going well, they're not going to feel any sympathy during a disaster.
