Well many people are sharing opinions these days.
Glad you didn't miss Amy Lee's friend Charles Neville on When The Saints Go Marching In.

poor Mike Myers, the whitest of all white people looked shell shocked. "I wish I were somewhere else, I wish I were somewhere else"

Did Kayne really say
Black people? This is being debated on another Board. Can you verify exactly what he said? (I don't think it was a good career move either way. Definitely not the right venue for that type of rant.)

ummmmm...what?
To slightly change the subject...whatever happened to "lifting yourself up by your boot straps"? If you watched the Dateline piece after the telethon, it showed people walking out of town and towards other towns. It showed a guy who swam across nearly a mile of water and then bean walking to the next town. These people took initiative and were rewarded. I understand there are many old, infirmed and unhealthy people that can't do this, but if you are healthy enough to loot DVDs and guns...start walking! Do something more productive, help others. It's a shame there is this element threatening the people that need help and those offering help.
If these healthy people had evacuated during the "mandatory" (look it up in the dictionary if needed) evacuation, the people providing assistance and aid would not be as overwhelmed. Go back and watch the tape, (I didn't tape it) but they said something to the effect that 5.4 MILLION meals have been delivered, XX amount of gallons of water and tons of ice have been delivered. If the healthy people had evacuated, these resources would be going to the people that truly needed the help.
This is a tragedy that in my opinion is worse than 9/11 but it is not uniting the country like 9/11 did. 9/11 was a different situation in which not every single bit of infrastructure was destroyed. Assistance could reach the area and once it got there, it was pretty clear what needed to be done.
Having whole towns/cities decimated with few ways to access them presents a whole new list of obstacles that need to reviewed and overcome.
Now is not the time to point fingers, Now is again the time to unite and show that we will overcome.
