I think it's a great idea! Traveling for work has brought me from the middle of nowwhere to East Bumble'town'. . .but rather than b*tch and moan. . (okay. . I do). . I try to find what is great about these places. I have seen the world's largest butter sculpture, the Cadillac Ranch, Canyons, have pet cattle and learned how they castrate bulls with rubber bands
, underground railroads, gone on haunted house tours, a mortuary with a miniature golf course. .and you have to love triple A baseball.
I have also tasted wine while looking at huge redwoods, had coffee and beignets while listening to unbelievable jazz, watched the sunset at the furthest point in the U.S.
So they all aren't Changes in Lattitude attractions. . I want to hear about them!

Just a corny geography idea...
The PA thread got me thinkin'. Watch out!
What if we did a state a week so we could all talk about where we live and what makes our state special?
It's kinda corny and hokey, but a lot of us have a bit of pride about where we live. Plus, Jimmy does always talk about geography. Wherever you go, there you are?
Kind of like BNr of the day, but state of the week.
I dunno. I'm a dork.
Besides, it could create some good and new traffic for the Changes in Latitudes section of BN.
Thoughts?

Can anyone guess why I'm excited about Wisconsin??
I also found out this weekend that Barstow, CA is home to the world's largest thermometer.
It's stuff like that that will make this fun.
Thanks everyone.
I'll devise some scheme to the order in which states are chosen and we'll start off with a new state next week. We'll finish up this week with PA.

I think it is a great idea ...... one small suggestion - rather than state - as there are many from same states - could divert off in to stuff on their towns/cities as well?buffettbride wrote:creeky wrote:So, a question - would I do a state or country????

(If I do country, then I gotta talk about those states I dont care about)

I just happen to this thermometer pretty well, actually, since I work in signage.
It was built to spec. to withstand 175 mph winds, and one of the first years after it was erected..... it blew over!!
You didn't hear about it because, almost miraculously, it didn't kill anyone! Did smash a few cars and buildings...
