I just got back from picking up my ticket at the Will Call window, I wanted to beat the crowds that I'm sure will be there just before showtime. The lobby area of the Garden is filled with Mardi Gras-style decorations. And I think it's as hot as humid as New Orleans too.

With all the artists they had at this show, JB got to do 10 songs. Does this mean he might actually be getting some respect in the music industry after all these years?

Can we have a brief report? Mood of crowd? Many Parrotheads? Thanks

It looked like (on TV) only about 10% of the crowd put their Fins up at the appropriate time... Looked kinda funny and didn't really look like the majority of the crowd was into it, but maybe it was different than it looked on TV....

Unbelievable show. . much better than I imagined it would be. Given all the artists - it was organized very well - especially with last minute changes.
Jimmy was great, but I think the best part (other than hanging out with Shane of course!), was Simon & Garfunkel singing with Aaron Neville, Elton John and everyone on stage singing and dancing to When the Saints Come Marching In. . .
Almost everyone was sitting during most of the show. . when Jimmy came on - you could tell the parrotheads. . they all stood up!
I wish I had taped the Pay per View. . it is something I want to see again.

Well, I was up pretty high in the 400's. There was a decent turn out of P-heads. Lots of Buffett shirts/hawaiian. Didn't see any grass skirts though. But it was basically a mixed crowd, which was expected with all the different artists. Fins was great- glad he did it. Alot of people caught on as the song went on, but the lady next to me just had no idea... I did see the broadcast I taped when i got back and noticed that they really didn't show much of the crowed during it, which is a shame since we were represented pretty well, all things considered.
I had to leave at about 11ish so I didn't catch the close of the show, but I thought that JB pretty much stole the show....
Way to go Bette....

Simon & Garfunkle have no chemistry together at all anymore. Most of the time they were on stage they barely acknowledged each other, it was like they didn't want to be in the same city together.
With all the artists they had at this show I still can't believe JB got to do 10 songs. Too bad it was a typical setlist, except for
Heart of Gold with Dave Matthews (who still sucks). Bill Payne and Sonny Landreth were both there with the Reefers, but Heather and Louisa weren't.
John Fogerty just about brought the house down. The New Orleans musicians - Allan Toussaint and his band, The Neville Brothers, The Meters, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and The Rebirth Brass Band (I think that's the name of the band) - were all great. Irma Thomas should give singing lessons to all those talent-free bimbettes that seem to be dominating the music charts. I've never been much of an Elton John fan but he always seems to show up at these type of shows and he did a pretty good job on his 3 songs. Cyndi Lauper was surprisingly good, and her hair is all one color now.
Bill Clinton is still the only man who can turn introducing a band into a filibuster.
Ed Bradley plays a mean tambourine.
By time the show ended, the section I was in was about 90% empty. I was the only one left in my row.
Bette Midler is an ass.

I've heard from 2 people who said they thought they saw me in one of the shots when the cameras were panning the crowd. I didn't stand out though, I was in my typical business casual attire.

Perhaps a shower would be a good idea for next time Larry...
