I lost friends and colleagues. Other friends had the plane go under their feet, and escaped the part of the Pentagon that collapsed.

Other friends worked at Ground Zero and at the Pentagon in the days following 9/11.

All of our lives changed forever.

Never forget.

I remember that I was sooo glad I had started posting on this site just before September 11.

I remember not feeling so isolated and alone. There were others out there feeling just like me.

Thanks to BN buddies...

It's tough to forget when I see the hole in the NYC skyline every day.

Many of us, including my brother, his wife and family "adopted" U.S. citizens whose flights were diverted to Halifax and they were our guests for 4 days until the airspace was cleared for flights again. We had 3 fine folks from Texas who have become like family and we keep in touch several times a year since that awful time four years ago.

We keep the victims and their families in our hearts.
There was a story on just that last night on CNN....It was a small town that did that...I think it was in the North east corner of Canada.....really moving

BTW....did anyone watch the movie/documentary on Discovery last night titled " the Flight who Fought Back"

very moving...

I watched it.....twice.
Amazing.....I was afraid they would do it like a "movie of the week"....very well done.
I was humbled by the dignity of the families.....

9/11 will always be a day frozen in time......

I will never forget that day.... nor the memories of the building that weave thru my life.

I had my 18th bday party@ Windows of the World restaurant in the towers.

My family lost several members that day... 2 employees and a firefighter

I have a pic of my late Grandfather standing in front of the site where the future World Trade Center was to be built. Shovel with a ribbon around it in his hand, business suit and a hard hat on. He was the RE Attorney. Circa 1966 -67.

My 95 year old Grandmother left West Palm Beach @ 8:30 am on 9/11 bound for JFK. She was grounded for 4 days in Charleston WV and had no idea why and would want to blow up my "Grandfather's building"!

And now we are 4 years later and we may have made a little dent in the war on terrorism, but we have in no way won! We need to get out of the middle east or just make it the 51 state.

I was at work - and my co-worker from another office called me and asked me to get on the internet bc a plane supposedly hit one of the world trade center towers - I am thinking what everyone else thought - 4 seater - maybe a pilot had a heart attack or was just in trouble??? Then when I saw the first image and I turned on the radio - happened to be classic rock station with Howard Stern - I knew that it was bad - then we went to a local rest to watch tv and we all stood there and cried when we saw the tower go down - knowing how many people were there...... then it hit me - a guy I dated in high school worked in one of the towers for Cantor Fitzgerald. And I just prayed that he would somehow be able to get out - Dennis Cook - he left behind a wife and two daughters and they are still mourning him!!!

I will never forget..........

thoughts and prayers to all who have been affected by this and may we never have to see that happen again!

And also when I watch a movie (like the other day, "Moonstruck") that shows the pre-Sept.11th NYC skyline with those two towers so prominent.
And I remember going out to my backyard that night like I did so often, looking up at the sky and seeing absolutely no planes up there. No contrails, no lights, nothing. I sat there in my swing thinking how the world, the way we knew it, was gone.

I remember that they held me in my class for a few minutes as a "just in case" scenario. All we were told was that "something" happened in NYC and DC. I thought it was a school shooting or something. Info kept trickling in throughout the day, and parents were taking their kids out of school.

I think everyone in the NYC area knew someone that perished in hte attacks.

Yesterday's weather was almost identical to the weather 4 years ago yesterday. Sunny and warm as summer got in its last few rays of warmth for the year.

There's a spot on the Northern State Parkway in Eastern Nassau probably a little less than a mile from the LIE overpass, where on a really clear day, you can see all the way to Manhatten and you can see the tallest Manhatten skyscrapers. There was a gaping hole as I drove by it yesterday. And I knew what was.

Now more than ever, I'm:
