No doubt somethings are definitely lost in this medium of communication, People try to make up for that and try and "get the feel" of the person writing the post. What may be taken as mean spirited, may have had a totally different meaning said otherwise if one could actually see the person and hear the inflection and tone of voice.

I can honestly say there is not anyone in here, or any other forum, I would not like to actually eventually meet and share a few beverages of choice and some time with. I have met several people from here and elsewhere. Spoken on the phone with others. We had a good time together and good conversations. Made some damn good friends!!!
It is generally wise to listen to one's inner voice ( or radar if you will allow) and be leery. But then again, sometimes like the first time or few times, you hear a song you don't like it...and after giving it a few good "listen toos" you decide you actually do like it....

It is easy to say a person sounds mean, judging from heated posts when
they get antagonized...but the person may not be as mean as you think, nor may the one(s) doing the antagonizing, be as antagonistic in real life...
Afterall if one likes roses, one must be prepared to deal with thorns....
Roll with the punches, play all of your hunches...come what may...

Any serious posts can make people not sound very cool, but I think pretty much everyoine on this board would be a good time to hang out with. I very rarely find a parrothead I don't like. No one is going to agree with everyone elses ideas on the big topics like politics, religion, and liner notes. So when these things come up arguments tend to happen and some peple don't come off looking so good. But I can assure you that there are a lot of awesome people on this board.

My gut feeling is not something to be relied on ...

My best friend (here in Aust) when I first met her - didnt like her one little bit. Then heard she was coming to my team - and I protested....

She is really really the most beautiful giving person in the world - I was so WRONG!! But ... I have a history of that .. most of my lifelong friends are people that things were a bit "rocky" to start with.

The people I tend to like first up, I find I am usually wrong in my judgement of them after a while .... I have learnt now, to take my time and get to learn to know people before becoming close to them - to save for the hurt down the track.

I have been hurt in the past by getting close to people online before I met them - so now I also steer away from that a little......

I dont know why this is ... I am soooo odd

I hate to admit this, but reading some of the posts today, I can tell that there are a few people around here that I just wouldn't like to ever meet.

I feel kind of childish even thinking like this, but I am just getting a "gut feeling" about some people today.

Maybe I am one of those that you don't care for just by reading my posts. I am not really asking for anyone to state any names, but am just wondering if I am alone on this?

Posts aside, do you ever get this "gut feeling" when you first meet/talk to someone in person? How on the mark are you?
I take it I made that list.
no, you haven't...why would you think that?
I was kidding? :D

It's funny you say this because my experience has been this. The person is quite different in person in each case that I have met them. I say give it a chance in person first.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

All the time, but I'm very unsociable so there are very few people that I do like.

I felt that way about one person. Met the person. Still feel that way.

Sometimes. And the person I get the gut feeling about usuallly doesn't do anything to change my mind.
