In my hippier days it was a plain bagel (organic, of course) with cream cheese and alfalfa sprouts.

Asiago cheese from Panera, toasted.

I like many others too... I'm fond of them, and many assorted cream cheeses!

Hate the word shmear at Einstein bagles.

And in NYC, many many years ago, didn't care for the bagel with cream cheese that I ordered, that I swear had a whole 8 oz block of Philly cream cheese on it. Cream cheese moderation is the key!

Nobody buys bagels at the grocery store, the only real bagels are at bagel stores.

Not even from the bakery at a grocery store? They's pretty much the same as the one's we'd buy at Einstein or something.

I've had bagels from the bakery dept. of grocery stores and I didn't like them. I only get them from bagel stores now. Maybe being from NY has made me a bagel snob.

Au Bon Pain used to sell chocolate chip bagles, they were pretty tasty. They had apple crisp bagels too.
