Great Woods on Wed was the best tailgate... but Wrigley Sunday was the BEST show I've seen...Philly was a close second. The Philly Phanatic almost stole the show!

I have been going for years and I don't remember anything as "magical" as the right field bleachers at the Sunday Wrigley show.

Thank you Mr. Buffett, for all the joy and happiness you have provided.

Went to Jax in February and both shows at Wrigley.....

One Particular Harbour at Jax was absolutely super, probably because it was indoors and took down the rafters, and I usually see the man outdoors where you don't get that effect. The Carson tribute between sets was also quite special. He even had a little clip from the Daytona 500 the day before featuring Jeff Gordon, but Gordon's not my NASCAR guy, so that didn't score any points here.....

But Sunday night at Wrigley, with the Steve Goodman tributes throughout and the night ending with Jimmy and Mac in the right field bleachers singing "City of New Orleans" in that single spotlight, at a time when I'd had to force myself to turn off CNN and get in a concert spirit, was simply the best and most impressive moment I've had at ANY concert.

Monday was fun, too, when I was joined by my family and friends (had ended up with a stray Sunday ticket I couldn't sell, so decided to go by myself Sunday night — you're never alone at a Buffett concert, right?) The magic of the moment was more subdued on Monday ... part two of his doubleheader..... but still very cool, and I was glad I was there regardless.

But the Sunday show indeed was history, and an extremely special night. His exuberance and wonderment at being there was so apparent, and sort of missing on Monday. No, he didn't reverse the curse for my Cubbies (at least not yet), but that simple ending, with that single spotlight and all the memories it brought to so many people — Steve Goodman, for me, and the one trip I'd made to New Orleans, and who knows how poignant the memories were for others, including the man himself who'd lived there — was probably the best moment I've had at a Buffett show. And I've seen a few, including another night at Tinley when he sang "City of New Orleans" alone as an encore.

The magic of the Wrigley shows won't happen again. Unless, of course, he does manage to reverse the curse and we bring the World Series to MargaWrigleyville some day ... hopefully in my lifetime.....

:D

P.S. Saw the ad on DirecTv for the concert. I'm in.....

There are so many to choose from, but I'd have to say Hawaii. Because it was Hawaii and it was 4 days after my birthday. But seeing Jake Shimabukura open the Pittsburgh show playing the Star Spangled Banner on the ukelele was pretty damn good too.

Wrigley Field Monday was the only show for me this year. I thought it was a great show and extremely special to me because it was the first one I was able to take my kids to. My 17 year old daughter thought it was awesome. At school the next day she told her friends, "Even if you don't like Jimmy Buffett, you have to go to one of his shows. It is the biggest, best party you will ever see." That almost brought a tear to me eye! :)

I'm sure lots of you will disagree with this (and fairly so), but the Cincy show this year was a very special one to me for a lot of reasons. I've been a phan since I was 9 years old (I'm 19 now) and this year's Cincy concert was the first I've ever been lucky enough to attend. It was a lifelong dream of mine to see a Jimmy Buffett concert in person, and being there was just a spectacular event for me--several times I caught myself getting a slight bit choked up because I was so happy to be there seeing the man that inspires and entertains me. It was just a very, very special moment for me--I'm sure lots of you remember what your first concert was like!

In addition, the Cincy stop was the first on the second leg of the tour, and Jimmy and the entire CRB seemed very energized and upbeat (well-rested, no doubt). I'd been listening to the shows on RM, and the Cincy show just seemed to be a very energetic and special performance. Jimmy of course played up the Parrothead angle since it's been 20 years since the term originated there (at least according to him), and the crowd responded rabidly as expected. From the other Cincy show recordings I've heard from the past, he usually seems to really break out all the stops and turn on the juice--it seems like that town really has a special place in his heart, and after seeing him there in person for the first time in my life, it damn sure holds a special place in MY heart.

So while I know arguments can be made for each show, I just wanted to include my two cents because it was such an amazing event for me. I'm sure someone else out there feels exactly the same about the Philly show, the Wrigley shows (especially), and so on.

That 4th Boise show was the absolute best!!

Went with Spuds McKenzie...it brought tears to our "eyes"...
He's French, and we got really fried!!!!

I'm with chitownpirate and all those who said Sunday's Wrigley Show. Without a doubt, the best show out of the 35+ Buffett concerts I've been to.

Can't wait for the DVD!
