Dallas Concert Rumor

Post by Spenbro »

Don't hold me to this...but I got word from one of the sponsors at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco (where FC Dallas plays pro soccer) that JB is scheduled to be one of the first concerts to play there. I'm guessing this won't be till next March. I'll let you know as I find out more details!!!

Oh, hell yeah. That works so much better than Texas Stadium.

Yes, I guess we are...hope the wedding isn't the same day as the concert... :o

Alice, my birthday is the 8th - would love to go...

If the wedding is close to the concert date, hopefully we will be there...if not, might have to hold off...with the wedding and New Orleans planned, that is probably getting to be too much...phins crossed

Dallas? I'll pass - but maybe that's because I'm an Eagles fan. Dallas is not a friendly place for me.

It seems like JB is making it a point to be the first concert in several stadiums.
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"

Why would JB play there? 26,000 for a concert? Starplex - or whatever they call it now - is still better! And Texas Stadium was just a one time gig with all his buddies! Ya'll be good! BCD

They call it Smirnoff Music Centre now. PHP would be a preferable venue for several reasons: (1) better sound (the lawn seating at Smirnoff is fun, but the sound out there sucks); and (2) seating capacity (Smirnoff only holds 20,000 parrotheads while PHP promises to hold approx. 26,000); and (3) location, location, location (ever been to Fair Park at night?).

Finsup2k...very well put! Plus, I live in Plano and PHP is way more convenient. But who knows, only time will tell about this whole thing.

I'm in Lake Highlands - probably closer to Fair Park than Frisco. But, I'd be more than happy to drive a little further and be a little safer.

It's been a while since I've been to "Smirnoff" - I thought it held more than that! I'll come back for a Frisco show! (Nissan is my new venue!)
As long as there are good bars nearby? and they alow tailgating?? and plenty of hotels!! How far is it from I-35?

It's a brand new stadium, so I'm not sure about tailgating yet. I would assume they allow it. The closest hotels would be within a five mile radius. It's a really new suburb of Dallas. As far as I-35 goes, you'd probably want to take Hwy 121 or 190 (depending on what end you are coming from) and take the Tollway all the way north. PM me if you need more info.

Is it too early to start planning for the tailgate?
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend
