I grew up in TN, however I knew there was NO way UT was even going to beat the spread (FL -3.5) in the swamp. UT has no d-backs to protect against passing. This was shown in the UT v UAB game. All it takes is a team to run the inside receiver on a short post and then turn towards the center; blows TN away every time. This could be caused by the constant use of 5 d-linemen and only one line backer. You can't use that defense against a quarterback who has yet to throw a single interception this season.

I do agree that FL didn't play the best they could have. However, I think you've seen about the best TN has in them. 5 sacks and 9+ tackles for a loss is pretty good defense on TN's part, but they couldn't do anything if FL got the ball off.

Looks like its another "rebuilding year."

(and no, I'm not a fan of UGA or FL. I'm stuck with the just as hopeless AU Tigers. )

LOL.. actually if you look, RARELY do they overrate UGA. Last year they did, that was a first in a while. Generally they rank us a little low and we come up a few notches in the final standings.

To be honest with you Rick, I would rather be underrated and be the underdog, cuase when you're on top everyone is looking to knock you off

After last night, I'm not sure of much. But I am sure of two things. Tennessee will get hammered next week at LSU, But they will clean Georgias clock when the time comes.

Some observations from a Gator fan who has attended all three of the Gators' games this season.....

*None of us have seen the "real" Urban Meyer offense and we will not see it until Chris Leak has graduated or left early. Chris Leak will never be comfortable with running the ball and while he may become adequate at the option; it's never going to be natural for him.
*That being said, UF focused on the option with emphasis on the pitch out the first two games, Vols had to prepare for it and then the Gators did not run this during the UT game.
*Gators offensive line has serious issues. Until they can get some push, the running game will be sporadic at best. We couldn't run the ball against Wyoming, ran it well against La Tech (but that was La Tech) and didn't run the ball against UT. UT is the best defensive front we will face this year with the possible exception of FSU. As long as Leak could get the ball off - we could pass all day on UT. Nothing new here. 8)
*Fulmer reverted to his usual getting away from running the ball. When the Gators beat UT - this is what happens.
*Why did Fulmer put Clausen in to run his 2 minute offense before half?
*Gators are playing MUCH better on defense with the new staff and scheme. Their technique and aggressiveness suits them. 8)
*Unfortunately, the Gators suffered two devastating losses with the injuries to Andre Caldwell and Ray MacDonald. We managed to gut it out without them Saturday night, but this will cause the coaches headaches in trying to replace the two of them. I just hope that these weren't career ending injuries.
