Yeah, but I'm telling you....my bones (whole body, actually) felt 25 years younger when the cortisone kicked in! If it wasn't damaging to our bodies, I'd have one every few months!!!SchoolGirlHeart wrote:okay, I agree on this one..... cortisone shots hurt like HELL....citcat wrote:a cortisone shot in my heel waayyy deep inside.....kinda hurt, but sure made me feel better.

Cortisone shots are the absolute worst. I had to have one in my shoulder once for tendonitis. It was horrible. It was the worst pain I had ever felt(until I had my baby in March, that is). BUT....my shoulder immediately felt better, and I haven't had problems with it since then, so I guess it was worth it.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:okay, I agree on this one..... cortisone shots hurt like HELL....citcat wrote:a cortisone shot in my heel waayyy deep inside.....kinda hurt, but sure made me feel better.

I've had 4 cortisone shots. The first 2, the doctor gave me a painkiller before the cortisone. The other 2 were in my shoulder and the doctor sprayed my entire upper arm with that stuff they spray on baseball players after they get hit by a pitch. That stuff is ice cold, I was so numb I didn't feel a thing.tequilatom wrote:blood test doesn't hurt. a little pinch......But shots , i hate. I had a cortizone shot once.......that needle was huge......i almost cried the pain of the needle going into the bone and mussle area.

I'll let you know about the stomach shots in a few months ok??
Course, the needle is small...
I've taken over 30,000 shots in my lifetime and pricked my fingers over 60,000 times for blood tests.
You would think any other shots would not phase me but I still don't like them and IV's do s***...I almost took out an old grumpy nurse one time who took out her bad day on my hand and by her 5th attempt to get the IV in I told her to get someone else or I wouldn't be responsible for my actions....

i'd rather have a shot anyday!
blood tests make me very sick actually. I really freak out like i'm a small c hild and start crying. ugh - the mere mention of the possibility of drawing blood...and i FREAK. they have a hard time finding my veins so usually it's at least an hour ordeal getting my blood taken. last time, they couldn't find a vein at the doc's office, so they sent me to the hospital and even they had trouble...ugh..it's not a pleasant experience for me.
bring on the shots!
