I've caught quite a few episodes of this show. It's suprisingly intriguing! Despite my pessimism in the beginning, I think this show could lead to a real comeback for the band. I was fiercely loyal to the original lineup with Michael and I didn't like that they were trying to replace him, but Mark Burnett has kicked a$$ again with another great reality show.

I'm pulling for Marty (he's a Chicago guy), but I'll be happy with J.D. being chosen as well...

I'll say the same thing that I said to my ex-girlfriend, which come to think of it may be the reason why I have to use the title "ex".

This show is stupid. The contestants don't even sing INXS songs. They sing other crap. I can't be a party to music being so cheapened.

I tried to watch it but it didn't hold my interest.

I watched it for about 5 minutes. If the one person I saw was any indication of the rest of them it's on about the same level as American Idle. Talent-free hacks.

I watched this show once at the beginning to make fun of it....and unfortunately became hooked. Since than, it has consumed me three nights a week and I'm glad it's coming to an end before the Vegas concerts in October!

That being said....I'd like to see Marty win as he's definitely the most talented performer of the three. However, I strongly believe the show was rigged for MiG since the beginning and I'll be shocked if he's not named the new lead singer.

As for J.D., he's nothing but an egotistical ass and I hope to never see this clown again after tonight's show airs.

Ok, so JD has bugged me all season, BUT -- I love his "Pretty Vegas" song! I think now that he's not playing "Survivor, Big Brother, Name that Alliance type show" he's not so bad.

I like Marty -- but he screams/yells all the time. More so than singing. Now that said, I had "Trees" stuck in my head all day yesterday. So I must be hooked.

Mig should not win, he's not their type. Just don't get him.

My vote would go to JD and I never would have said that a month ago.

Now see, I think it is rigged for JD. He is a complete self centered a$$ who sounds and acts like Elvis most of the time. Maybe he should have kept up the Elvis gig instead. No matter how bad he sucks, the band alwasy Ohhs and Ahhs over him. I guess my vote is for Marty. For some reason, he reminds me of Michael Jackson everytime I see him. He is the most talented (can write, play and sing). Maybe JD would be better suited as an Elvis stripper.

I do like "Pretty Vegas". Maybe the band could just buy the song off of him!

I would have agreed wholeheartedly prior to watching the show. That's where the Mark Burnett factor comes in... he's created quality reality shows like the Apprentice & Survivor, as opposed to My Big Fat Nasty Fiance (or whatever that show was called) & the Littlest Groom... Burnett has managed to turn this show into a legitimate, compelling contest. I think they purposely kept the contestants from performing a lot of old INXS songs in the preliminaries because the band doesn't want to just become a cover band of themselves. It seems as if they want to move forward with a new guy that can still perform the classics with, well, class. And the reality show stage for this contest did appear cheesy at first, but it ended up being the best casting call they could have done... they weren't going to get this quality and caliber of legitimate musicians to audition from just a simple press release.

I was/am a HUGE INXS with Michael Hutchence fan... but if they get things right with the right lead singer, then I'm willing to give the new version of INXS a chance.

I only saw it once - last Tues I think. But I think it would have been right up my alley for entertainment purposes. I've never seen Idol... actually, I see little more on TV than football and baseball at my house, cuz hubby controls the remote. I never see "what else" is on, because he never stays on commercials either. When he goes to bed, I normally turn on VH1 Classic, or CMT.

What was the question? Oh yeah...

Based on what I saw last week, I'd lean toward JD. Marty has enough to go it alone after this little push, and Mig didn't really hold my attention.

I hope I remember to watch it tonight!

Saw INXS twice in the '80's ... great band. Michael Hutchence was the epitome of "front man".
I've seen a couple episodes, including last week's.

Hate Marty.. he only strikes me as a Hutchence wannabe

Don't care for Mig.. scary-looking dude, but an Aussie.... hmmmm

J.D. , to me, seemed like the most "natural" to take over this "role"

... but the band tanks in its comeback effort. Just another Foreigner or Journey "hits-only" act playing casinos :-? :-? :-?

INXS is just a rip off of a great band from the 60's and 70's "The Boomtown Rats" (Bob Geldof) INXS copied their style, their beat, everything short of covering their songs. When Geldof disbanned the Boomtown Rats, INXS stepped in and tried to pick up where the Rats left off. Yes, INXS put out some great tunes, and milked the MTV "Look" to the hilt. Geldof and the Boomtown Rats where a bit too ugly for MTV in the early days. But in the end the Boomtown Rats where better musicians, better song writers, Geldof got the girl, and the lead singer of INXS offed himself.

This reality show is a feable attempt to rescue a band well past it's prime. Their ability as Musicians, their song writing ability, and their look just won't cut it in todays market. they look like they should be auditioning for some musical remake of the 3 muskateers.

You're entitled to your opinion... but I think your interpretation is a bit narrow.

Yes, the Boomtown Rats were great. I'm a huge Bob Geldof fan. But INXS history and success isn't even remotely related to the lack of international success that the BR should have received... and that INXS eventually did. I don't understand your suggestion that they 'ripped off' BR... how? Name songs that are clear imitations? :-?

Yes, the bands histories did eventually intersect when Paula Yates left Geldof for Hutchence. (of which you were incorrect in your suggestion that Geldof ended up getting the girl.) Yates was with Geldof with for 20 years and had 3 daughters with him... she ditched him for Hutchence and had a daughter with him. After Hutchence's questionable suicide (some people argue that he could have been attempting a kinky sex act, asphyxiating himself while jacking off), she slipped into a severe drug escalated depression over several years that eventually led to her death from a heroin overdose. Geldof filed for custody of their daughter and is raising her with her half-sisters.

I wasn't so crazy about the show, but a few weeks ago, there was a performance by Suzie doing "Bohemian Rhapsody" which was really good, everybody loved it, the band said it was the best performance all summer.........2 weeks later........."Your not right for oua bond.......Inachesess"...........that line drives me crazy! :o

translation for those who have never seen the show: ....."our band.......INXS"

I'm guessing by the many inaccuracies included within your diatribe, that you grew up sitting in front of the tube watching them on MTV.
Any more deep thoughts on, say, Thompson Twins?
