Thanks to all of you for your comments and setlist. Fun to come home to BN setlist eventhough we're trying to reason...

Hope I hve this on VHS.I had to patch in directly to cable box,and run down to Dollar General to get tape! My Toshiba "Hi-Fi" VCR looked like Rip Van Winkle just waking up.But it was plenty hot after J.B,s set.Best $20 I EVER spent.I couldnt get over all the puzzeled looks in the audience mixed in with the P/heads thinking--"I think I remember this guy,but were,s he been? I saw someone on here bitching about the sound. This had to be a nightmare for the sound people, all the changing the stage around so much. And consider how many inputs J.B. and C.R.B. have!
Piece of work got off to a shaky start, but it was pretty damn good once they got everything up and running. This whole concert was thrown together very fast.
Well Rita is bearing down on family members in Seadrift,Tx(about 10 mi from Port Lavaca) They are leaving today. Please hold a good thought for them.We need the rain in Dallas/Ft.Worth but its a RACE WEEKEND!
Good news---Dubya has just signed legislation shortning the hurricane season--Rita has been called off.

Indecision may or may not be my problem

Replays on DirecTV
Crazy Navy Flyer wrote:I hope we get some replays this week, I still need to tape or Tivo it.
DirecTV is running replays on Saturday. Checked this morning and one is scheduled for Channel 120 at 8 p.m. CDT. Think there might be another one on Saturday as well. check DirecTV Web site.

I'm hoping they'll do something with last night's show like they did with the September 11 concert. A few weeks later a 2 CD set was released. But there's definitely more than 2 CDs worth of music from this one that I'd like to hear. I hope there's a DVD in the works too.

Or they might only take a few songs from everybody.LIPH wrote:I'm hoping they'll do something with last night's show like they did with the September 11 concert. How was it doing Fins, BTW?
I started laughing hysterically when i realized he was going to do it.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Fins was different without a Hawaiian shirt and more than half the crowd not doing it.
To be honest, if there's a DVD I wouldn't mind if they left most of JB's set off. I'd like to see all of the performances by the New Orleans musicians, on CD and DVD.
I was looking at the Big Apple/Big Easy merchandise store website. They have a link for a DVD/CD but when you click it says it will not be available at this time. Check back in the future for its release.

ok....i'll put my 2 cents in about jbs set last night.
On the whole i think it was ok....I didn't think it was great, and i didn't think it sucked....i thought it was ok. I questioned some of the music choices. Heres the positives and the negatives:
Positives:
Heart of gold with dave matthews....all i can say is wow. that was one of the best that i've seen in a long time.
Come Monday....it really meant something to jimmy last night. You could see it in his eyes.....at one point they did start to get a little misty......
Sea Cruise with Paul Simon......another great pick by jimmy.
Negatives:
Piece of work....First off i'm not a big fan of the song. But i do not understand why he chose this with so many other great choices he could have added at this show
Scarlet Begonias...I like the song but ....sorry, but jimmy can't hit the notes on this one. I've seen him do it 3 times, and each time it was pretty bad vocally.
Everything else was ok......I will say this though.....It was great to see jimmy having a great time last night (on and off the stage) and the bottom line with the show was that it was for a great cause so thank you to all the performers...... so i'm not complaining...just putting my 2 cents in

Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way

It continues to amuse me how people say Jimmy doesn't do that song well because he can't hit the high notes...I think he does it just fine and continually hits those notes solidly. He's much better in the upper range than down low where he compensates by shouting or taking things up 1/3 or 1/5 (so what?)...I think it's a great song for the band and Jimmy!!Capttony wrote:Scarlet Begonias...I like the song but ....sorry, but jimmy can't hit the notes on this one.
