BN Couples

Post by Jodibug »

Don't know why, but question popped into my head this weekend after surfing threads. How many couples are BN hookups from online chats or phlockings and what's the story? Inquiring minds want to know  :D

Well Pooh and I were married in 1998. I joined BN in 2002 and Pooh in 2003. So I had to buy a second computer so we both could be on at the same time 8) .

Yep.. me and Elrod. 8)

We were good friends for a long time here on BN.. and became more than friends when I was ending my marriage in 2003 and divorcing in 2004. :D

He moved here from Oklahoma in May of this year, and we simply couldn't be happier. 8)

We're both very lucky that we 'weren't looking'..

Ok, here is our story....most of it anyway....and an update, we are doing better than ever, have really worked through many issues with the distance and things are working well. We are both doing what we can for our kids and eachother and it seems to finally be working a lot smoother :D

Get ready for a LONG story!
boozeintheblender wrote:I think the PH singles thing is a good idea. You never know who you might meet on here. It's really amazing how much 2 Parrotheads can connect in such a way that words cannot describe.

A couple months ago I was posting on the Alpine Valley thread and started a PM conversation with a certain special someone. I wasn't really looking for anyone special, but somehow I found her. Or maybe she found me. After several PM's we decided to send each other pictures. Only to find out, I had found the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. After several more PM's (some of which were a little explicit), we decided to talk to each other on the phone. After hours and hours of conversations on the phone, I knew I had really found someone very special. Some of you reading this may not believe you could begin to develope feelings for some one you've never met, but trust me it can happen!

After many conversations, we found out how much we actually have in common. Same ages, same hobbies, same musical interests (of course) and most importantly same feelings for each other. A couple weeks after first talking to each other we decide to meet in person. She lives about 9 hours from me, so I decided to drive there and see her. For some people this can be a big step, and all the feelings you had for the other person could have faded like the sun at Mallory Square. I knew meeting this particular person couldn't change my feelings, but I was mistaken. After 2 weeks of much anticipation we were ready to meet. After she open the door to her place, all sorts of things started to open. First was our eyes, then our arms and most importantly our hearts to each other.

We ended up spending a 4 days weekend together, which has changed my life forever. The internet fantasy girl I met turned into to most real feeling I have ever known. Princess, I love you. (sorry everone else, I couldn't help myself). She has helped me find feelings and emotions I never knew I had inside me, and I know I do the same to her.

I'm usually not a real religious person, but somehow my love for this person seems very spiritual, in a way I have never felt before. Maybe it's because she's an Angel, or a gift from God to me. I'm not real sure what I have done to deserve her, but I glad I did it. We feel as if it is our destiny to be with each other for the rest of our lives, and we're both very sure this will happen. Even though we're 9 hours apart, and both of us have some other issues, our love for each other will prevail in the end.

I'm sure all of you reading this may wonder who this mystery woman is. A lot of you have met her. She's been on the board for almost a year now, and has been to several concerts. I'm sure when the time is right she will reveal herself and tell her side of the story, which I'm sure will sound exactly like mine.

Princess, you are the love of my life, and always will be. I'm searchin' for the spirit of the Great Heart, and I found it in you. I Love You!!

Jimmy, thank you for all you've ever done. Your music and spirit has touched my life in a way I only wish you could imagine. I can't wait to see you in Indy, Alpine, Chicago, and Vegas.
Okay, time to take this thread out of the archives and tell my story.....

The story is way too long and incredible to include everything so I hope I can recap good enough....

There I was, going about my daily business of posting on BN and chatting with all my friends that I already met and a lot of the friends I hadn't met yet.....Gearing up for the Alpine 2004 concert, getting many questions and messages from many people wanting to join us for the Alpine show....I freely give my number to a lot of people and tell them to call me if they have questions.....so...on my birthday, I get a phone call from a strange man wishing me a happy birthday and asking me a few questions about Alpine. He identifies himself as BoozeInTheBlender on BN....no big deal, we chat for a minute and that is it. A few weeks go by and a LOT changes in my world (separation from spouse) and we begin chatting a little more and a little more. We find out that we are both in the same situation of divorce and children and the whole crap of a deal.....we decide to have a little fun and start innocent flirting via PMs....exchange pictures, both like what we see (superficial, maybe--but after our conversations it wouldn't have mattered)....We then talk on the phone, and talk on the phone, and talk on the phone....about everything and anything and nothing.....to this day, we have talked extensively every day since the first day.....We decide we really have major potential and something "Bigger than the both of us" is bringing us together and we HAVE to meet privately before our big meeting with the group at Alpine....So, he decides to drive 8-9 hours to Wisconsin to see me. (this is about one month later). He shows up a day early and surprises me...neither of us have any apprehension about meeting eachother and our first meeting is just as magical as we thought...except incredibly, incredibly better!!! We spend the best four days of our lives together and have a true, honest connection, just like we had expected....a few weeks later, we meet half-way in Mason City, Iowa - another incredible weekend (details spared  ) Another weekend with the kids (his 6 year old girl, his 3 year old boy, and my 3 year old boy)....--don't worry we didn't get the kids too involved in knowing we were "together" --just a fun day of swimming and having fun. Then I fly to Kansas City to meet him for Memorial weekend - met his family and friends and had a wonderful time. Then Mason City again.... --I must stop for a moment and explain that everywhere we go, almost every single time we are together - a stranger has approached us and commented on how in love we look and how wonderful it had been for them to watch us interact with one another and see so much love.....these are strangers...the last person said that we "radiate our love" to eachother.....--this has happened on numerous occasions....--then he flew here for the Fourth weekend...met my parents, went to my 10-year class reunion, and had another great weekend....then the Alpine concert...which some of you attended and got to know us (I think...I was very intoxicated!!!!!) :D

Anyway, in the last almost 4 months, we have felt that we have known eachother forever and we both really know how much we care about one another and are willing to wait forever to be with eachother forever.....there is a true committment here, and although neither of us can make a move due to our children, we are both confident that we will find a way someday to be together.....If the higher power brought us together in the beginning, the higher power will find a way for us to be together with little sacrafice. We are both willing to do what it takes to make our lives together happy forever and also never give up on our families and friends.....How yet, we don't know....the moral is though that we will make it work and it is so great to find someone you truly connect with, can let your guard down to, and be yourself with.

I thank God every day to have found you Eric and I will cherish the kind, respectful love you give me every day..... You know I love you and want to make you just as happy as you make me......

Here is to the beginning without an end...... :D
