If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Last night's show was awesome. I was laughing straight through.
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"

Earl's brother (dunno his name in real life) was in Remember the Titans, wasn't he? Because I kept having flashbacks to that movie when I saw him all geared up in his football uniform.
I love the show. I had never seen any promotions for it or anything, I just happened to flip by it the first night it was on TV, and saw Trace Atkins on it. I thought it was some country music thing so I kept it on... good decision

His breakthrough performance as a young football player in Disney's "Remember The Titans" with Denzel Washington garnered him critical acclaim and led to another role opposite Washington in director Nick Cassavetes' thriller "John Q."

I believe Earl and his brother were in the motel room watching TV, towards the beginning of the episode, when Earl's life really sucked and he didn't know what to do. They were watching a Carson Daly talk show I think, and Trace was Carson's guest. Carson was beginning to interview Trace and then Trace said "wait a minute, I always see you asking people questions, let me ask you a question. How do you live your life?" It was something along those lines, and then Carson explained his whole karma thing and that's where Earl got it from.Ilph wrote:I missed the first episode. When Earl was in the hospital after getting hit by the car right after winning the lotto he was watching the Carson Daily show on tv.Ilph wrote:I missed the first episode. Trace was a guest and basically said "enough about me, I wanna know about you, Carson Daily. Everytime I see you you've got a pretty girl on your arm, you've got your own show, record company"
Carson responded with "Do good things and good things will happen to you. It's karma"
"It's crazy and it's different, but it's really bein' free"

Thanks for clearing that up! It also helps explain the whole karma thing, too.sonofabeach wrote:wow! we both answered at the same time!TikiTom wrote:I believe Earl and his brother were in the motel room watching TV, towards the beginning of the episode, when Earl's life really sucked and he didn't know what to do. I'm watching the show tonight, and I realized that Earl's brother was also in Cold Mountain as the retarded guy that camped outside and got the coat from the women, hanging out with Lily's dad.TikiTom wrote:Earl's brother (dunno his name in real life) was in Remember the Titans, wasn't he? I have to agree. It was funny in certain parts but overall, not the greatest one I've seen.Ilph wrote:I don't know about encores, but tonight wasn't one of the best episodes. The exwife wasn't even in it.TikiTom wrote:Holy Crap! I Missed It!! Not Cool!!!
