Houston, we have a problem. Problem, we have a Houston

Post by Lono »

Houston opened its doors, hearts, and wallets to the folks from New Orleans. Now we about to face a direct hit from a category 5 hurricane. To make matters worse, Jimmy has not been here in almost two years. Yes we need FEMA and the Red Cross. We also need hope. Jimmy, come back. We need you now more than ever. I am sending out the bat signal. In order of importance, I need: Jimmy to come back; 2) the 2010 Super Bowl; and 3) my Junior Mints. Jimmy hear my prayer.

Thanks. I live on high ground, and I have ice, water, food, a full tank of gas and lots of cash. I only wish I had payed more attention to those earlier posts that talked about how to turn your weedeater into a blender. I could really use that this weekend. Thanks again for the phin power - I think we are going to need it.

If what you are about to get is anything like what we just got, I can tell you that you are not prepared. Because you can't prepare enough for Nature's full wrath. I wish you all the best but please take heed. This will be the most intimadating experience of your life. I hope and pray that it slows down and misses your area, otherwise your area will never be the same and a lot of people will die. Please be careful, the dead here is over 250 and another 100 still missing. Good luck, leave, and stay safe.

as far as your list goes, I can mail you some Junior mints, but I don't think they'll get there in time.

Otherwise... I can do some prayin' & hoping.
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"

If anyone reading this needs a place to ride out the storm in the Dallas area, send me a PM...
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

Dang...that's pretty cool.

Being in the hotel biz...the closest thing anyone can get right now is Tulsa...and that includes all of our brands, Embassy Suites, Hilton, Doubletree, Hampton Inns, Homewood Suites, Hilton Garden Inn...everything is sold out...

And people that were calling this evening were mad and yelling at our agents that we couldn't find them a room any closer... :-?

Lots of stress and hard times for many....

Gracious offer, Four Play.

And Lono, don't stay just because you're on high ground...go visit Four Play...he's a great guy (and Mrs. Play is nice, too), and there's a lot more nasty this Rita could send beyond an initial storm surge.... :-? :-?

Listen to her. Please?

Having been thru one CAT 5, it is nothing to "ride out"
You may get stuck in traffic for hours...you may have to sleep in your car in Walmart Parking Lot...But please, if you are in Rita's path. Leave.

I am about 13 hours west, but my home is always open. I have room for at least 4 maybe more. At least it's a straight shot. 1-10 right across to Florida...
Like she said "Be Smart".

The economic impact of Rita: Oil prices, natural gas prices, and gold prices have all gone up this morning. Half of all U.S. chemical plants are in line of the hurricane and the Houston area has the largest concentration of oil refineries as well. I don't want to sound callious but this is another aspect of the storm.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

We have an office in Houston. They're saying it "will be technically open" today but people are going to be leaving early and they're closed tomorrow.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here
