Where would be a good place for it? (I'd think Jimmy should shoot for something around "Navy Pier" :)
How about a Margaritaville cruise ship on Lake Michigan? Get rid of the Spirit of Chicago, throw some tiki huts on Navy Pier and sail out on Jimmy's newest boat to watch the sun set over the city on an island in the lake.

Now that's a great idea!!

Probably would replace the long-gone ChiChi's

That's exactly where they were looking.
Searching is half the fun: life is much more manageable when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party.

Wouldn't it be cool if they went and replaced all the old Chi-Chi's? We have several here in Indy! We just got a new CIP on the north side of town within the last couple of months and we have the one on the south side of the town. But one on every side of town...oh my!

This is the kind of stuff I miss now about the big Chi Town. Shopped at the Menards at 159th & Oak Park many times, some time ago now (saved more money at Menards). They need something like CIP or Margaritaville in the south burbs there!
Hey Snake, we need more wine!

That's ONE of the places we were looking. No luck yet, but we are still trying to find a spot in the area.

Well the company that bought MOST of the Chi Chi's buildings ALSO owns several different restaurants including CIP.

Outback. But just because we own the buildings doesn't mean we own the property. We need to the landlords approval to build a CIP, and if they don't like what we have planned, we can't do it.

So they could end up as a BoneFish, an Outback, a Carrabas, or one of the 5 other concepts we own.

Or we could sell the buildings.

Thanks CaptainP, We have a Chi Chi's(empty) here in Springfield that several months ago we got excited because an article in the paper pretty much said what you just did. But I dont think ours was one that Outback(or whatever company it is) bought.

I know that my boss IS looking at Springfield. Don't know the location, and just because he's looking doesn't mean it'll happen.

Well you can tell your boss, the people down here eat out ALOT.
The franchise type restaurants seem to do very well here. Its the mom & pop specialty owns that never seem to make it, even if they are good.

Captain P,
Thanks for the update. I still like the 171th & LaGrange location. It's within staggering distance of home. :D Does Scuba Jeremy still work at DG?
