When it comes to Waylon and Willie albums, are "Waylon and Willie" and "Clean Shirt" the only two actual studio albums that they recorded? Everything else I come across seems to be a compilation album.

What about "Pancho and Lefty"? or was that just the one song?

That was recorded with Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard

There was WWII that came out in the early 80's but it was nowhere near as good as the first one. There is also the WANTED! THE OUTLAWS cd that was released in 76. It has Waylon, Willie, Jessie Colter, and Tompal Glaser on it and there is 3 songs Waylon & Willie do together, Good Hearted Woman, Heaven and Hell, and Nowhere Road. Both of these are still in print and should be easy to find.

Also don't forget the 3 releases from the HIGHWAYMAN.

Thanks. I knew about the Outlaws album, but was unaware of WWII

WWII was a let down for me.
"Clean Shirt" is the best in my opinion...quite a few fun songs and not really a clunker on it.

I agree, Clean Shirt is great, and I also have Waylon & Willie. I think I'll pass on WWII, I haven't heard one good review of it. Thanks for the info.

The first Waylon and Willie album is the best one to me. I haven't heard Clean Shirt yet. One I'd like to hear but haven't got my hands on yet is called Honky Tonk Heroes, a live album featuring Waylon, Willie, Billy Joe Shaver and Kris Kristofferson.

I think it may be kind of hard to find so if you're able to locate a copy I strongly recommend snatching it up immediately.

I have that cd but it's not live.
I got it at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago.
My favorite song on it is "Aint No God in Mexico" a re-recording of an old Waylon song with Willie joining in on the chorus.
Perhaps rather than a live album, maybe it's a collection of re-recordings?

Jah, I can send you a copy of it as well as "Clean Shirt" if you'd like.

*update
I just looked at the inside liner notes and what is written on this webpage is what's on the liner notes concerning this album

Thanks for the clarification on this not being a live record. I read some of the background on it at the All Music site and forgot to mention it. Still sounds like it would be well worth owning though.
