I cant even get my car to 2000KM (less in miles) - had it since may and it is a struggle  - I am at 1800 now!

I dont keep an eye on mileage - I have had the same tank of petrol for the past three weeks and still half full - so happy with that!!

We dont have useable public transportation here in Tampa Bay....

I use my feet - they have the mileage  I decided the parking situation in downtown was just ridiculous - so I moved in here! Now I only drive my car on a weekend - and not far - I am sure I will kill this battery in record time for "underuse" !

Old petrol is no good either.... maybe you should only put a little in at a time if you dont use it often....

Hush!!! Tho this one has a mobiliser! And I park it out in our parking lot, instead of the street ....

Now - syphoning out petrol and stealing it with the current petrol prices has apparently become an issue ..... People want that, more than they want others cars!

VERY VERY VERY WRONG. Only use the gas it says to in the owners manual.

A good majority of cars now only require 87 octane-- if you use anything more It could damage the engine ( says that in the manual in my car)

though if its more of a higer end car ( caddy) I know it says to use Premium only.

I havent checked them since I bought the car 2 mths ago.... hmmm
Check it out. You can get a nifty little digital tire pressure gauge at radio shack for about $10. At the recommended air pressure the ride is a little stiffer but for the gas mileage I'll take it.

Always check the tires "cold" if you can.. meaning before you drive anywhere cause they will heat up as you drive, thus increasing the pressure inside, and you won't get a true reading....try to check them about once a week if you can.

Would that be GALLONS to the MILE over MPG? 8)
When I was driving my FJ-40 TLC I was lucky to get 14 mpg. I loved "The White Crustacean!" Got some severe rust repair and other work that is a "sometime in the far futrue project".

That would be 12 mpg "in the City" and 17 mpg on the Hwy.

Another thing that will drag down mileage is running the A/C. 8)

It looks like you're usually going topless, but FLA is always so muggy late in summer.
I know I'd be running it full-time!

The only A/C she has/ had was (2W + 2 V) X 60 ( 2 Windows down and 2 Vents open at 60 MPH)

There is only one factor that determines what octane fuel you need, and that's the compression ratio of your engine. 90% of the vehicles on the road right now do not require anything higher than 87 octane.
