If they are really looking at cost savings that is a solution depending on the training they are doing.
Just an FYI
Also, I worked in teleconferencing for several years for ConferTech before they were bought by Global Crossing. Small world.
I've used WebEx a few times with a client I work with called Stellent (they are a content management software vendor) and liked it a lot.
My company uses Raindance now, I believe.

My company uses Raindance now, I believe.I specialize in IR calls, as that is my background, but I do a lot of other calls, webinars and day-to-day stuff too.
Most of our stuff is day-to-day stuff because people like to have too many meetings.

Amen sister.....I have been to 4 meetings so far today.
We use Webex, and I HATE IT. It is SLOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW. And for my next slide. you may want to go use the restroom while it refreshes.
If there are better options out there, please tell me and I will suggest them to our infrastructure team.

We just got some new features with Raindance that I'm going to be using to create some conference/web based training courses. I'll see how it works and let ya know.PHBeerman wrote:buffettbride wrote:hikingontuesday wrote:Well, tell them to leave Raindance and join me!buffettbride wrote:I remember doing IR calls very, very well!hikingontuesday wrote:I knew them well. From Denver to Omaha Frontier has a $297.89 fare valid for travel during October, no weekend stay required and if they are willing to connect Northwest has fares as low as $204.00.buffettbride wrote:I pegged Omaha too, but hubby said the flights were really expensive from Denver.(whereas I'd expect the hotel and food to be lower--and he could go to CIP!!)The Lost Manatee wrote:Omaha and Orlando are likely to be the lowest cost overall. New York will be the highest.
Plus, the airport in Denver is far enough east it's practically in Nebraska already!!
I kinda thought Dallas or St. L would be pretty affordable too.
From Denver to Orlando you should be able to get fares in the $252.00 range.
Those are pretty cheap fares and the lodging and meals will be much cheaper then NYC, Chicago, Philly, DC, etc.

Orlando would be your best bet, cheap to get to from almost anywhere, and cheap to stay and eat there. Plus the weather is nice.
I also work in telecom, and when I worked for a place that used Lucent gear I was pleasantly surprised to find out their training center is there. I spent 2 weeks there learning the 5ESS, it was a 2nd shift class so I got to do the tourist thing during the day as well (in Feburary, too).
The place I work for now sends me to training in Ottawa, ON in Novemeber. Yuck.
