What does any one think of the new rules? I for one like the shootout and opening up the ice. Still dont know what to think about the whole goalie "trapaziod" but I guess time will tell.
Who made the best moves in the off season?
And finally, who wins it all?
New rules will be good for the game, eventually. Players will have to figure out how the refs will make calls, and I hope the refs start and remain consistent on that. Pre-season had a lot of goofiness while they tried to figure it all out. The goalie thing will work out.
I'm a bit biased, but I think the Thrashers off-season moves are at the top, as are Philly's. Thrash stand a chance IF they can get Kovalchuk back. If Philly stays healthy, it's probably their year.

I think it's going to take a month or so for most teams to gel. So many new faces everywhere it's hard to figure out who's best, but on paper I'd say Philly had the best signing season.
I keep hoping my Beloved BRUINS will do well, but their defense looks shaky.
Regarding the NHL in general, for the price of one decent NHL ticket I can take my entire family to see our local AHL team (Manchester Monarchs)and have money for a beer to boot! I hope ticket prices come down some so I can make a trip to whatever they are calling the Fleet Center/Garden now.

Tommorrow the Stanley Cup Champs take the ice @ home in Tampa for opening day. You would think the city needs to close down to accommodate all the excitement....

It's just the music, the on-line XM doesn't include any of the sports or comedy channels either, probably licensing issues.

Well, the Flyers decided to take the 3rd perod off tonight, they blew that one to the Rangers, that's for sure.
Just saw the first shootout in NHL history, pretty cool....Ottawa beat Toronto, I love it already!
