Favorite cold remedies...
I have an icky sore throat today (I've just been a wreck lately, haven't I???)...
Just wondering what everyone's favorite cold remedy is?
I'm a DayQuil/NyQuil girl, although a Sudafed with some Ibuprofin will do the trick too.
I have a knack for getting strep throat, but I don't think that's the problem this time.

Jack, lemon juice, and honey:
The Jack kills whatever ails you. Not to mention, opens your sinuses.
The lemon juice provides some citric acid for some health benefit.
The honey soothes your throat.
However, since most working environments frown on this medication, I usually go with Tylenol Cold & Sinus for days and Nyquil at night.

Mine must go the same doctor as your hubby...mine says it will cure anything...headache, sore throat, stomach ache, etc.

Those Emergen-C vitamin packets help if you're feeling icky.
Aside from the protein shakes recommended by our husbands... lemon tea with honey helps your throat.
And if you have a head cold my favorite remedy is a Blueberry Tea:
Make yourself a cup of Earl Grey tea and add 1 oz. amaretto and 1 oz. Grand Marnier. Can also be made with Orange Pekoe if you want. Personally, I like Earl Grey better.

He's right though... those are the things that will boost your immune system to fight the illness itself. NyQuil/DayQuil etc will not do that... they only supress the icky feelings, but don't help you fight it off.buffettbride wrote:WAYYYYY to healthy!z-man wrote:Vitamin C, echinacea, lots of water![]()
