Good news from the "Hag Camp"

We are currently working on transfering all of Merle's video and concert archives to a digital format so we can make it available to you for download, and let me tell there is some really cool stuff that no-one has ever seen before!!, Around December we are going to try and make available the shows from the upcoming tour for you all to purchase and download.

A major note for your calender is that Merle will be broadcasting a live webcast show from his ranch in Redding on November 11th at 4pm pst. This is an idea that Merle has been wanting to do for a while and the technology is now available for us to do it. Merle is very excited about talking with you the fans about anything that you've got on your mind, an email will be sent out about a week before the show that will include an 800 number that is a direct line to Merle that will only be available during the show. The show will consit of Merle and the Strangers taking live requests and performing them, stortyelling from the past, views on news and currnet affairs, and we are in the process of lining up some really special guests to call in and to visit. This is a new idea that has a lot of potential and we really need you the fans to get involved, spread the word and get as many people to to tune in as possible.

* More Hag news: Chicago Wind , Merle Haggard's new album with producer Jimmy Bowen, will be released on Oct. 25 by Capitol Nashville. It's the first project in 10 years for Bowen, the former Nashville record producer and label executive who first worked with Haggard on the 1979 album, Serving 190 Proof . In addition to an updated version of Haggard's own 1973 song, "White Man Singing the Blues," Chicago Wind includes new originals and other songs written by Roger Miller and Willie Nelson. Titles of the new songs include "Rebuild America" and "Where's All the Freedom." The album also features Haggard's duet with Toby Keith on "Some of Us Fly."

Is there any place we can listen to clips from the new CD on-line before it comes out?

Keep an eye on CMT.com. They usually have listening parties for some CD's before they arrive in the stores. Usually a week to 10 days before the release date.

I got my advance today and have listened to it a couple of times. Sounds really nice. Jimmy Bowen's production is classic. A bit short (38 minutes 20 seconds) but a solid CD.

One of the best songs on the CD. Very slow ballad.
