I'll bet the smell will be gone... And I'll bet the dog will be too...PHBeerman wrote:Google is great
Hydrogen peroxide + baking soda + liquid dish soap: it worked. Apparently the mixture releases oxygen compounds that bond with thiols and neutralize their smell.

Just don't call him skunkbreath though - he's been through enough already!shakerofsalt wrote:It may have had it's mouth open when it was sprayed. Does it's breath stink? Our dog had that happen and the smell was on his breath for months.
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say

Before I moved from Oklahoma, my little dog got sprayed numerous times..
I kinda got used to the smell, and she apparently didn't get a direct hit...but it seemed that leaving her outside as much as possible reduced the strong smell each day...
much better than rolling in something dead...which she's done here in Georgia, and cost her a night...outside !!!

When it goes from full to crescent...I move in and out of tune...Everlasting Moon....

BTW - this is an "older" dog - he does not chase things anymore. It's quite rare for us to get "wild" animals in our neighborhood but there are numerous open fields within a mile of us that are being developed right now so these animals are basically being kicked out of their homes and are looking for another. My guess is Chase was "curious" and the skunk was scared sh$tless by his size
